There are two separate download demos on the PS3. One single player (3 missions) and one multiplayer with a few modes.
The script/talking is cheesy. The driving feel and controls are pretty good now that I've played it a little more.
Release date: September 06, 2011FROM MY ORIGINAL POST:I hope it's more like Driver 1 than the other Driver's.Feels different than all of them.I don't know how I feel about the "Shift" yet. It's not a bad feature. Quick and easy to change vehicles. It didn't seem to be a problem during multiplayer either.I think I would enjoy getting out and running to a new vehicle more than 'Shifting' into a new vehicle.Shifting is nice for a quick transition to another vehicle and keeps the fast paced game play going. While you can use it during missions, you're sometimes transporting someone else so you can't complete the missions since they don't 'Shift' with you. 'Shifting' will probably not be available in some game modes. 'Shifting' will be a great feature for changing vehicles quickly in free roam or before missions (if possible). In one of the demo missions you had to race with 3 other cars. You actually controlled 2 of the 4 cars by 'Shifting' between them during the race. The Driver series has never been great with graphics, but I hope the final game looks a bit better. Not bad, but they could be better. The cars look pretty good, but everything else could use some work. Will it have a Survival Mode? Not sure. Rumors online state is will be in a Collector's Edition or Down-loadable Content. That's pretty disappointing as thats the mode we used to play the most.Online play?Yep, and the few modes the demo lets you play don't seem too bad. Hopefully there is some player vs player police chases as those will probably not get played out as quick. Will the burnout button return?I'm disappointed. The burnout button did not return . However the cars will smoke the tires and slide. There is also a boost button that lets you really get a slide going around corners. Very easy to do donuts and slides. It's probably as close as it can be without a specific burnout button. There are a few view options, but the outside view is closer than I prefer. I'd like to see a 3rd person view that's a little further out. I'd also like to be able to control the view vertically, right now you can only change the horizontal view angle.
