UDMA RAW COMPACT FLASH 16GB, 675X
Just ordered this.

My only beef is the resolution, but one with a higher res would be a lot more expensive.

Goddamn Thinkpads are ugly. They actually make me think the extra cost for a Mac is worth it.
Except of course for the fact that thinkpads are amongst the best built, most thought through and reliable laptops money can buy...Finray wrote:

(Oh and the better ones are more expensive than any mac )
Thinkpads are fucking awesome, will last forever and are not ugly imo...
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
They're god damn ugly. Blocky, bits sticking out everywhere, colours used are horrible. They've probably got better hardware and are better built, and better value for money, but you can't say they look good.
I like them... they look nearly the same as the old IBMs they originate from.. and that has the same charm as your nostalgic mechanical IBM keyboard...Finray wrote:

I would love owning a thinkpad W series, but they cost the same as a small car
I reckon they look
And I love that mouse knob they have (yeah can't remember the right term in english atm)

Have to admit the little button mouse is an epic way of navigating.
You can't say they look good because they look like old computers, aesthetic opinions change as the times change, you don't look back and think "Wow, flares on jeans look awesome, I'm going to buy some today" unless you're fucking weird. It looked good then, doesn't work with today's styles.

I like the look of an old, nice-looking car more than the generic design of modern day "value" cars...
opinions are opinions.. If everybody liked the same, only one thing would be made...

lol... lets not get into another fight over this but macbooks have a fuckton of design flaws from putting form over function...Uzique wrote:

reports of macs overheating and melting stuff are so so over-hyped and over-circulated.
basically that conception only exists because of the huge community of vehement anti-apple geeks in the pc-tech world.
you read from all these sources and browse all these communities that express these same subtle biases and opinions.
sony had to recall tons of top-range vaio laptops because of a faulty battery unit that would explode/literally ignite...
where's the constant "sony vaio's suck they put form over function lol" posts? same old floppy...
and yes, i will always come to a tireless defense when there is the tireless requoting of tired, wrong 'facts'.

I dont mind the look of the Thinkpads... they're definitely better than the generic looking shitty laptop that 90% of laptops have.
The difference being cars were made to look good... When the first laptops started coming out, form wasn't a high priority..FloppY_ wrote:
