yeah its a reasonable £130 from Goldsmiths.

An expensive watch would be nice but it would be wasted on me, i don't understand the principles of expenseive watches.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Do you really not feel the need to explain what they are to us lower-techies?

A TEC (DOA, fucking Chinese), eight Japanese lithium-ion cells for my laptop, and a brand new battery for my spare laptop.

Just bought 8 Eneloop rechargeable batteries for my flash along with a smart charger. ~$50. Realized disposable ones would get expensive very quickly

Rechargeables tend to self-discharge quicker than dry cells, at least that used to be the case, not sure about the latest ones.

I tend to just charge them overnight. Probably saved me in excess of £100 on batteries

Yes, quicker, but not significantly, regarding the eneloops and similar batteries.

Yup, but Eneloops are super low discharge, according to lots of people on the Canon Photography on the Net forums, they take months before they lose any significant amount of charge. I could have gotten higher capacity batteries but then I would have the discharge problem

I once saw USB chargeable batteries.

If I ever needed batteries loads, I'd get them.

Here they are:

I still reckon Duracell would be better, though.

The problem with those is that, not only is the top nothing but plastic, but there is also charging electronics built into the rest of the cell, leaving almost no space left for the actual battery cell.

I completely expect them to have a poor battery-life, but you can't deny that the idea is pretty clever.

if it's inferior to alkaline-battery technology from decades ago then one would argue that the idea is shite and useless
