75-300 III is... meh. Definitely get the 55-250 IS if youre looking for a new lens, very much worth the extra $100 over the 75-300 III. For ultra wide, I would recommend a Tokina 11-16 2.8. Pricey, but very high quality, fast, and sharp as a tack. For flower and light bug macros, the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro (L version or not) is amazing, also great for portraits. You can also do the cheap thing and buy an old manual 50mm 1.8, some adapters, reversing ring, and extension tubes. That wont run you more than $80 if you do it right

This poorly worded and organized post brought to you by brain-dead industries

EDIT: related thought, why the fuck do ultra wides have to be so expensive? FFFFFUUUUUUU

To drastically change the subject, I placed an order for one of those fuck huge Arctic Cooling GTX*** coolers the other day. It's long overdue, the fan on my 260 is so done for that it's not funny.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Good choice. I would say "wish I hadn't bought my 5770", but I don't wish, because then I would have had to play for 8 months with a 4670.

Actually bought a few days ago.  I was tired of using a headset and my shitty logitech Z5300's burnt out a LONG time ago.  Pretty happy with them.  Very full sound, bass in kinda punchy though without any real substance.  7/10

Klipsch Pro-media 2.1

Pros
Full sound even at high volume
Satellites driver housings are made of wood composite (fibrex maybe?) not plastic
Small Size
Its Klipsch ( I <3 Klipsch)
Cons:
Bass is kinda punchy and shallow
Its not 5.1

I have done something terrible. I bought a 64GB ipod touch. Flames go!
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I've had this set for a few years now and I've loved every second, apart from when I let some people use them for guitar hero at a LAN where I feared for their life; I hadn't ever played them that loud, but they seemed to survive well and even open up a bit. I haven't noticed the problem with the bass you describe, but I don't listen to much DnB or the like, although they seem fine when I do. I'll take it that you're more discerning than I.

In any case, since technically I purchased them yesterday, en route is:

Asus P6T SE x58
Intel i7 930
XFX 5870
6GB G.Skill Pi DDR3 1600
Corsair 850TX

All in all, I'm pretty damn excited... pics on arrival/build.

Not sure yet. I'll try to revive my old ipod classic. Or buy another touch. Then I can properly multitask. Or maybe just cry.
