I know it has bombs and a 30mm cannon on the front, but how many bombs does it have and what else do you think it'll have?

there is now way to know unless an official release from EA/DICE so dont fret to much, but im guessing 4 laser guided rockets 30mm cannons and thats boaut it.
I don't know but from the pics posted by EA and other resources....
It's got a enough hardpoint racks to notch 9 single MK's or if they programmed it for two bombs per rack, 18 MK's, and two rocket pods.
And of course the GAU/8A.... gotta mention it outta respect.

my guess is 500lb MarkIII bombs rocket pods with 14-20 rockets each(BF2SF type probably so they will have better effect against infantry) and the huge ass cannon that im in love with(except it will probably fire exatly like any other plane gun except it dose more damage(EA and DICE will be lazy and do the bare minimum of course)
i dont think ill buy it anyways
mods should be out soon(may-june should see the first total conversions) and im gonna play them scince they will have 20 times the features more maps viechals and are FOR FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not 10$ for 3 maps and 2 new helicopters and 2 new planes
u get like 7 maps 30 viechals and 40 weapons for FREE

great vid, now lets hope the A10 in the game gets 10% of this power
bonerific... I had an outline of how the warthog flies from someone who has beta tested it... the bombs drop too wide apart I was told, and they drop in seperate payloads instead of 5 at a time.
They also were upset the turbines shot flames lol. Afterbunrning a10s LMAO!!!
The cannon was also pretty weak according to the pilot. No word on the other aircraft.

Don't forget the MOABs (Mother Of All Bombs) they're gunna duct tape on!!!

as long as i have my General Electric GAU-8 Avenger cannon.
Did somebody say I hope gun is decent?, in real life that gun is much bigger then a fucking blackhawks minigun and obliterates tanks in one pass with about 30 rounds, it is god in real life (GAU-8), but yeah in Bf2 they'll probably fuck it up

That machine gun on it better shoot like real life. I want to put holes the size of cantalopes into the side of an enemy tank. I also hope that the bombs are increased as it is a tank buster.

I hope that the armour on the A10 can withstand some punishment as the plane in real life can still fly with one engine and half it"s tail missing but watch it come out as a one missle can kill it
come on, don't speculate and hype yourselves up. this is a game, and doesn't have a track record of realism.
i am worried there is going to be some serious balance issues here. the a10 is meant for killing stuff on the ground harcore. it will should be twice as bad as and f-15 or su-30 in the game because it is not meant for any air-to-air. so i am just wondering what ea is going to come up with to counter it. in regular bf2, stinger sites and mobile AA do a pretty good job of countering bombers, or atleast giving them enough hell to slow them down. all i can think of is more mobile AA.
hopefully it has an m95 proof screen.
Only thing I hope is that EA/DICE make it an A-10, not just another plane.

I'll second that, I'll be happy as long as it's distinctively a ground-attack aircraft. Most importantly, the gun needs to be effective against armour, otherwise where's the point in implementing the plane in the first place?Coolbeano wrote:

I'm kinda curious what the other countries ground-attack planes will be, too.
um maybe you guys dont fly enough but the jets guns are already quite effective against armour. i have regularly taken down apc's using guns only in a jet, and several times finished off a tank that i didnt quite kill with bombs. granted it takes good aim but it can be done. of course the jets right now use a 20mm cannon, and i completely agree that the a-10's guns should do more damage since they are 30mm. (fyi the assualt class noob tube is a 40mm round. imagine it firing at 6000 rpm.)
