No iPhone.

My contract's ran out, so I'm due for a renewal. Last phone I had was a Nokia N96 and what a piece of shit that was.

I only wanna pay £35 a month and nothing for the actual phone. Also has to be on O2.

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobile … al-finder#

That page has all the phones I can get, using filters with the above information.

I really have no clue as to what's in, though I was attracted by the HTC phones.

Anything? Appreciate the help.

You need to see what you like. Try before you buy.

If you don't want an iPhone, pretty much anything Android then like jsnipy said, nothing else really worth considering.

get a droid , droid incredible , droid x or an evo 4g from spring. cant go wrong with those. i got the droid incredible after getting $200+ back for selling my Iphone 3gs 32gb model. please dont be a fool and get the iphone 4, because i realize its the worst thing i could have done. and yes it looses reception when you hold it a certain way. went to an apple store and confirmed it.

Sounds untruthful coming from someone I feel is a reasonably technical individual. What was confusing to you?

Also what version of the OS are you talking about?

HTC's are good then? What's the latest one?

Desire?

Seems alright, Android 2.1, pretty spiffy, 1GHz processor or some shit:

It wasn't intuitive.. coming from using an iPhone and iOS...

I have no idea about the OS version, given the fact there seems to be a million different ones..

I think iOS is great especially in how the interface scales and pans, but i don't see this huge gap. At this point is nothing one OS that the other does not.

It's still preference. I can afford either phone and have have spent plenty of time on both (and not just at the store). Main thing for me that drives my decision is a) at least for usa at&t is a pathetic network b) I don't like having my choices limited when i comes to what i want to do with my phone for starters skype, google voice, WITHOUT having to be on wifi. Again, preference.

Re: the OS being unintuitive - that's only coming from iOS which has one button, and one button to open an app....anything would seem 'unintuitive' coming from that.

Just because it's more complicated, doesn't make it any less useable.

It's not as intuitive, but it's more open.

I find Android very nice and simple to use. I like it.

I'm no tech expert so  I'll just ask.

My Milestone crashes sometimes, I'd say once a day on average, I think it's when I'm running a few apps.

Is it the phone or Android?

Btw had 2 milestones as dropped first in the toilet after a piss (still fished it out) and that crashed too.

Shame they aren't releasing it in Europe so that wouldn't have helped him much.

I'd have gone for the Dell Streak I think, for an Android phone that fits the criteria he specified. It's only 1.6 - but it's due a 2.2 update soon. It's a bit big, but I like that.

Decent battery life, lots of functionality and lots of capacity are all good things.

I would have to say iPhone. There's nothing that can really touch it in terms of style, features, apps, etc etc, if you can afford it it's pretty much the best there. And this is coming from someone who generally doesn't like Apple products.

I have no bias either way but Android in general seems to be every bit as stylish, has all the features and apps, etc.

Apple has 93,000 apps whereas the Android only has 11,300. I think most Android devices look pretty businesslike, whereas the iPhone is more casual.

No, it doesn't.

But it's nice and open and has lots of potential.
