IO mode could be a good thing, IMO. 

Not that this game needs it, but I have a feeling that a lot of the less-skilled whiny types will migrate to that mode, and hopefully leave the rest of us in peace. 

This could mean less worthless recon players (not all are...), and less people that play engineer solely to spam rockets at infantry (which would be really ironic if IO mode resulted in less engineers in vehicle mode).

The main reason IO killed "normal" BF2 is because it came after the game was what, 2 or 3 years old?  At this point in BC2's lifespan I would expect plenty of people to still play the game in normal mode.

you could be right, but man people really aren't adapting very well if they feel a need for IO.  3 out of 4 classes can be equipped with the means to destroy a vehicle.  only the medic can't, which means the people bitching about having IO mode are going to end up with m60-fests on the IO servers.  i wonder what they'll start complaining about then.

Nelson Bay is pretty much IO already.  Arica Harbor Rush IO would be a disaster.  Same for Isla Innocentes.

I mostly played I/O in BF2 or city maps with vehicles because the jets and choppers were just so dominating that it just wasn't any fun for me to play with them around.

Now, that said, I think I/O mode in BC2 would be rather silly. I've never seen a tank or chopper dominate a map as there are just too many ways to destroy them now. The AT class in BF2 was mostly crap so no one ever played it and tanks ran free. Now the AT class kicks ass and the tracer dart was probably the best thing they ever put in to equalize the game out. There's really no need for I/O and as steelie said, it will more than likely just devolve into M60-fests. Not a fan.

wow... one of the ONLY things i liked about bc2 was the integration of an ELO system. small meaningless example, but i broke the world top 500 during the first week WITHOUT having to play 24/7. pretty casual, actually. it was a good system and rewarded GENUINELY good play. now that's gone... even the back-end part of the intolerable game sucks. bye bye bc2.

Ever notice that your Attacker/Defender stats seem way off?  I looked yesterday and thought "something must be wrong with this game, the defender almost always loses".

It seems these stats are thrown off by the tracking of Conquest and Team Deathmatch matches.   If you win, it's a win on attacking, and if you lose, it's a loss on defense.  (You'll never lose on Attacking or win on Defense)
