I mostly PuG and don't have any buddies playing BC2 so I am usually on my own.  I never get any squad mates even worth sticking in the sane squad together but when I do I won't squad hop.

I will jump squads to spawn in the best place for me to help my team....

...if I see a flag square blinking and I see a clueless team mate in another squad on the map running away from it then I will jump in his squad, spawn on him and save the flag.

...sometimes I will help a lone teammate cap a flag  by jumping to his squad.

Obviously you cannot always do this if the squad is full but they rarely are in my experience.

Ever since I employed this technique I am usually the Ace or very close to it nowadays.

Do any of you guys do this sort of thing?

This topic leads me to the most underrated FPS skill in objective based games....Awareness.

Most people don't have a clue how to utilize all the information from your minimap/map and sounds.  I may not be the best shooter out there but I know I am right at the top in terms of awareness.  I will know what is going on all over the map and my battlefield awareness is top notch.

Yeah it's the best when your team mates are all around the flag being capped by the enemy.

I squad hop all the time. This allows the snipers on my team to be useful as spawn points since they aren't doing anything else to help the team win.

i "squad hop" all the time and you are right about it helping your score and it helps your team win the round for sure.

its rare to join a squad that is working together or that use the VOIP but when you do its freaking sweet.

I found a squad that worked together and 3 of the four were using their mics, my score for that round was 27K

Join a clan. I'm constantly talking to my squad mates on teamspeak. In game VOIP sucks donkey balls.

I squad hop if my squadmates are all dead or not providing good spawnpoints.

Awareness FTW. Prevents you from being knifed in the back tbh. However finding out where the f*ck that sniper ran is sometimes pretty hard.

I can if the bullet hits an object near me best...if the round hits me and doesn't kill me proves to be a little harder.  If he kills me and doesn't move locations he will die because I never play Hardcore (aka - shitty mode).

Because I have the ability to put more than 1 or 2 rounds on target I will stick to Normal mode.  I don't need MW2 mode thanks anyway.

Join a clan. I'm constantly talking to my squad mates on teamspeak. In game VOIP sucks donkey balls.
I have joined numerous "clans" that played many different games and used vent and the same thing always happens.

we will be playing game and then one of my clan mates will start talking about his crappy day at work or about his girlfriend or something non game related or he will start whining about the game.

the person using in game ventrillo as yahoo chat is  higher up than me, the admin and has even happened if the person joined the clan after me.

I dont say anything at first but they keep on complaining or talking about non game related stuff and I end up asking then telling them to be quiet and I either get kicked from game, from vent or from the clan.

This has happened as far bas as my Tribes 2 and BF 1942 days.

I will probably join  a BFBC2 clan soon but I know this same situation will come about again.

I'd much rather be in a clan with laid-back people who aren't super-obsessed with the game and are willing to talk about things other than the game. I'd rather play with actual people and get to know them than robots who only discuss things related to the game.

that is why clans have forums or if the clan mates are really that into eachother they can schedule a chat session that does not involve the game or game play or subject the other clan members to their personal life.

I am as laid back as you can get, I usually drink quite a few beers and smoke up when I am playing but I am there to play the game not squawk like some hens at  a beauty parlor.

when i want to play a game, I want to play the game not chit chat about my personal life or be forced to listen to other people do the same, that is what facebook and yahoo chat are for.

Trying to listen for enemy footsteps or call out an enemy position while some guy is talking about his low GPA, his car breaking down, his wife/GF  or kids etc is not being a gamer, its needing a support group or a friend in real life.

I usually stay quiet or ask nicely for them to keep the chatter related to the game, they get offended and we argue for a few min and I get kicked/banned from the clan, vent  or server etc

give me a f**king break and play the game.

So get in a clan that stays focused on the game when playing, then goes and has fun on the forums. Like my clan

Mine is the same way. If people want to BS they go in their own channel.

I squad hop if it's to give me a spawning advantage, or if the squad I'm currently in sucks.
Sometimes you'll be in a squad only to realise the other 3 are all sitting back sniping. Waste of time tbh.

It seems like you get a lot less squad team work than in BF2. I usually play with my brothers/ cousin so its not a huge deal but its sort of annoying.
