not in NY it's not... with people still hurting from the economy, enrollment in state schools SKYROCKETED here. SUNY Albany (where my brother goes... he transferred in after a year at community college) requires a 93 (3.9? idk what it is translated) to get in as a freshman.11 Bravo wrote:
i would imagine a 2.9 is good enough for a state school no? i mean its just a factory desinged to empty your pockets anyway.
still a state school. 2.9 would be well above the minimum i reckon.Trotskygrad wrote:

I know UCLA requires at least 3.2 to transfer as a junior

Not even frickin close for UT marine. Depends on the school. As mentioned, despite being in Illinois the state college is pretty good.

University of texas is a state school and 86% of the enrollment was top 10% of their class. Pretty much need a 4.0..11 Bravo wrote:

How is this still open, it's fucking obvious that he's trolling...
yer, the point is it's not easy to get into a state school just because it's a state school. A 2.9 wouldnt fly at tech or A+M eithereleven bravo wrote:

mebbe we should be suggesting alternative schools around where HaiBai lives? chances are slim he'd end up going to one of the texas or cali schools
Actually everyone, sorry, I sort of having been acting like a douche. But I'm 100% for real. I mean, I want to do good. But.. it just never happens. I tell myself everyday, that the next day I'll do my homework. Next semester I'll get straight A's. Everything will be fine in the end. But now, I'm running out of time. If I don't get my ass in gear, I'm going to fuck my life up because I'm spending more time doing shit like playing video games..

Not to worry, it looks as though you have tonnes of choice. At least ONE of these places has to be willing to accept you.
I find it hard to believe that SUNY and Texas have 85%+ admission averages. What, is that for your hardest program? I don't know what the average is (for general admissions) for this school (University of Toronto) as each program varies quite a bit. I think the lowest possible is 82%, and I KNOW this school ranks higher on every poll than both those mentioned. So what gives? Are the high-schools just easier?

It's not a REQUIREMENT but you're never going to get in with a shit GPA.
