when i think of this stuff it makes me imagine a medieval scene. i think i would be happier making swords in my sword shop.

No permits? So people could just run some shitty factory like in Upton Sinclair's The Jungle? So people could run polluting factories that contaminate the water you drink?

Uh, people do take up crafts. Heck, look at Parker for a (dishonest) example.

People who like to grow tomatoes can do that... same with lettuce. They often can't make it big actually, because the government allows giants like Monsanto and ConAgra to monopolize and patent fucking FOOD. They destroy small farms by suing them into oblivion because their fields have GMO seeds that they patented. Watch Food Inc sometime.

I do agree that lower taxes and less restrictions could help with that stuff, but it'd have to be done right. I don't know why you'd want a 'union' to 'authenticate' doctors or lawyers... that basically already exists... they're called accrediting boards, and if a medical or law school isn't accredited then it's worthless. And the government has standards which people have to meet in order to be able to practice medicine... I don't see why that is a problem.

And like Farthead said, I don't know why you'd rather things be medieval than how modern society is.
