Completely disagree, a good sniper placed strategically near CPs can facilitate the capture by spotting/sniping spawning enemies while your team mate caps the flag and you can snipe anybody attempting to cap it, so other than the sniper getting kills, it does have a use for your team

The other use for snipers that I've recently found is acting as a squad leader, you can sit back away from a CP and provide fire and act as a SP. This gives your team a large ammount of information about their surrounding area and gives them a chance to spawn away from rape zones but still clsoe to the frontline. yes it may not get you points, but tbh I've stopped caring about points now.

also i think nyte is full of shit but not because of his claims to greatness
i'm a sniper. the large majority of times i pick sniper i am top sniper and have an outstanding k/d ratio. when the L96A1 came out servers were full of shitty snipers.. BUT, the thing that I noticed and what pissed me off the most as somebody who was sniping since day 1 was that there were a lot of really good new snipers, and I had to really compete to be top sniper or have the best k/d ratio as a sniper in a server - whereas before the sniping kit became really popular I was usually top dog. I think this is the real reason for nyte's post and he's too much of a little baby-baby to admit it.

Sniping since July 29 2005. Started back with a ~0.7 KD (which was still better than most snipers at the time). And I'm still top dog.

And to everyone, I have NEVER said anyone sucked, just that I'm better. I don't believe in anyone sucking, you only get better. And I, have gotten better than everyone I faced.
