Yeah I found it a bit weird watching the New York Rangers take on the Phoenix (!!) Coyotes in Madison Square Garden a while back. Germany doesn't actually have any ski resorts worth mentioning though - the Alps are mainly Austria and Switzerland.

Maybe it was just the (flat) Florida in me.. but I remember mountains galore in Germany. I rode up to the top of the German alps and there was a full fledged resort up there. Although at the time they were hand gliding.. I shat brix at the end of the ramps. Those German border towns probably trek over to train in Austria. It was only a 15 minute drive from Mittenwald, one of the places I visited.

Umm, your thing about the ratings in US says otherwise. I cant name lots of players on the Canadian team either. Mens hockey is unquestionably the biggest single event in the Winter Olympics.

So? Its about the team, not the individuals. I can probably name 10-15 of the players, thats enough for me, especially as someone who doesnt care about the NHL at all. Nobody knows the names of bobsleders or all the speed skaters on a team. What event is bigger than mens hockey then? Back up your mockery with some evidence.

Not really... I always get annoyed when people say someone who got silver or bronze in the Olympics lost. I think its awesome that we got the most golds and all, but its not everything.
