Maybe it was just the (flat) Florida in me.. but I remember mountains galore in Germany. I rode up to the top of the German alps and there was a full fledged resort up there. Although at the time they were hand gliding.. I shat brix at the end of the ramps. Those German border towns probably trek over to train in Austria. It was only a 15 minute drive from Mittenwald, one of the places I visited.CameronPoe wrote:
Yeah I found it a bit weird watching the New York Rangers take on the Phoenix (!!) Coyotes in Madison Square Garden a while back. Germany doesn't actually have any ski resorts worth mentioning though - the Alps are mainly Austria and Switzerland.Kmarion wrote:
Germany is always up there. They kicked ass in Torino taking home the medal count.CameronPoe wrote:
I'm surprised at Germany's medal count. Not a ridiculously big nation, no real mountains to speak of and not particularly wintery...
Germany has plenty of mountains.. Alps even . Take a boat ride down the Rhine.
Not literally but consider..

It's not like cross country skiing is a real possibility for we Floridians and hundred million other 'mericans.
