I see that Galt has 'thrown in the towel' as it were, saying in a thread that he's 'given up' after five months on DST banging his head against a brick wall. So, I'm wondering how many of you have actually changed your mind about something after reading/contributing to a thread here in DST.
Do arguments regarding Islamic fundamentalism make you sigh and reach for a brown bag, or have you over time come to realise the dangers of Muslim fanatics?
Have critiques of socialism made you realise that actually communism IS the same thing, and we'd better head rightwards before we wake up in Marx's utopia one day?
Do you still consider the USA's involvement in WWII to be a case of them freeing the world from slavery, and an event which they can gain moral friction off for centuries to come, or have you begun to consider that maybe they've worn that one out a bit.
In short, have the endless and, frequently, pointless debates around here EVER given you pause for thought, a new way of thinking about something, or changed in any way your pre-held beliefs.
Or is this shit really just a waste of time?
