I never knew the appeal for Dubai, especially from Western/non-Muslim nations. I've met so many people, here in the West, and Indians, Chinese etc.. that rave on about Dubai, and I'm like, fuck that shit, why would you want to live in a place that hates you on an official level. There's just so much wrong with places like Dubai/the UAE/the entire Arabian peninsula.

Try it sometime. You'll probably find out that Dubai is in a deficit of such proportions that stocks from all over the world fell recently once the Dubai admitted they couldn't pay off any interest on the huge loans the country has taken out for ridiculous building projects.

The country with idiotic laws turns out to be very, very far from "rich" as you so succinctly put it.
