our window cleaner is a JW and seems to be a good decent man, also one of my best friends is of JW stock, though his family are not themselves - the fundemental JW end of the family has dissowned them more or less which is sad, but again they are good decent people..
Personally I'm not afraid of stoning coming back on the program ... you show very little faith in society if you think this will ever come to pass, about the abortion issue that's just "normal" Christians you know ...Shahter wrote:
sure. untill they start pushing their "freedom of religion"-crap and the laws get changed. anti-abortion issue is pretty damn hot atm, even though to any sane man it's pretty damn obvious that allowing women to die by refusing them abortion is complete loonacy. sure, we are pretty far from legalizing stonings yet, but, in time, who knows?Varegg wrote:
Hence why we have laws ... do something criminal and you will get convicted ... pretty neat eh?
btw, would they allow jw's to kill their kids by refusing blood transfusion were you live? wouldn't they be convicted of murder?
If you kill your kids in Norway you will get prosecuted yes ...
Wait behind the line ..............................................................
I have a Jehovah hall thing round the corner from my house and regulary hang around outside waiting for the hot chicks to come out, there is a few of them! All I've ever said to JW's is that I don't believe in god. Then I get handed the "Watchtower"! Like that is going to make any difference to me!
i'm exaggerating of course. as to "faith in society" i don't think i have any of that at all.Varegg wrote:

Imo its a cult more than anything
Never (knowingly) dealt with one ever.
And I've never gone searching.

I've had sex in one of their parking lots. I approved of the experience.
You've never had them?Mekstizzle wrote:

Incredibly nice people who would love nothing more than to shoot the shit with you about their wonky religion all day long. I used to talk to one of thier foot patrol about once a week for a few months. It's a pretty crazy religion just like all the others, but the guy was a nice guy and intelligent enough to converse about religion in general and metaphysics.
We get crazy old white ladies who talk to us like we're soulless heathens around these parts.
Make X-meds a full member, for the sake of 15 year old anal gangbang porn watchers everywhere!
I wish I could say the same about my experiences... when they've come round, they've been stubborn and obnoxious.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

The ones I have met tend to keep to themselves. I was once asked if I was saved, I replied I was Catholic, and that was that. Now my mom, on the other hand, used to have them come in and sit down and have half a day conversations with them, each trying to convert the other I suppose.
Never met one, but considering Illinois' record with religious fanatics (just ask the Mormons), I'm willing to bet they stay away.
Abortion is protected by the Constitution, according to the Supreme Court. It's not a State-by-State issue. Restrictions placed upon it are, but it is available in every state, per Federal law.Cybargs wrote:
On abortion in the US as it is not protected by the constitution, it is up to the states itself to create such laws. However, if the mother's body is at risk all states will allow abortions. Or people just fly up to another state.

It's a cult. Once you join, it's hard to get out of it -- at least, that's what several former JW's have told me. They have some pretty fucked up stories.
And just where the hell have you been?
Escape from a cult or something?

In my suburb all within walking distance there are no less then 10 churches and a synagogue. If you include the whole council area (10-15 min drive in all directions) then that number goes up to about 40 different churches.Mekstizzle wrote:

they are so annoying, i've opened the door to one and she started telling me that there was a difference between jesus and god...........i told her i was an atheist and she left.
but my stupid brother opened the door to them and they started bombarding him with religious cult crap about doomsday and stuff and gave him some pamthlets which i promptly shredded.

For a religion that wants alot of followers I think that having a cut off of a couple hundred thousand people getting into heaven is ailly
I've got nothing against them... just i don't know who simply does this off a doorstep, obviously it works otherwise they wouldn't do it though.
I was part of the Brotherhood of Steel for a little while.FEOS wrote:
