Just got my veteren knife on Warlord couple of days ago. I thought I'd never get Basic, then I got it. I thought well ok I'll never get veteren ,then I got it. I thought I'd never get the expert, Umm... I haven't yet
but I WILL!

The only thing I can honestly say is I'll never get Basic Explosives Badge.

I obtained the veteran knife badge by accident on some night map in Special Forces.  I'd wandered into an area where it was hard to see with nightvision so I took off the shades and there were bad guys everywhere.  I tried to shoot one guy but needed to reload. Switched to the knife and ran at him, kill.  Then they just kind of came at me like demons and I just kept clicking.  Soon I had my basic badge but I managed to kill however many needed for the veteran.  I noticed that one guy kept rezzing his mates I'd just killed, so making them a priority before they could figure out what was going on helped a lot I think.  I also believe that they probably had trouble seeing me, perhaps because they were wearing nightvision in a lit area.  Any rate, I haven't come close to getting that many kills sense, I average 1-3 a round.

Just look for opportunities, they won't be that hard to find. Of course you shouldn't charge someone head on who's firing bullets at you, that's just dumb. Have your primary out most times, but when you see an oblivious eemy, or an enemy that has not seen you, go after him with your knife.

Also, sneak around highly contested spawnpoints, for an example, in the SF map Mass Destruction, the Chemical Factory or whatever it's called is a great place to rack up knife kills.

ur absolutly right, But  i enjoy this game so much, that in near future ill get a new graphic card.
The point is , that if i can get 6 kills in that condition of game, ppl with good pc s and good connection,
should not be discouraged if they cannnot take knife badge, IT is Possible,

Mate I used to think it would be pretty bloody hard; I tried the knife on Karkand like everyone recommended, but I was too crap to get more than 4 knife kills before the round ended.

Although last night I got my precious Basic Knife badge (yeah only basic *grovels to all gold-badged Blade Masters*) and I'll tell you how, because it was actually pretty easy.

On Ghost Town, the enemy had the Convoy control point. Every time I spawned, I made a piss-bolt for the street on the south side of Convoy. I went up the stairs to the roof of the house and knifed any snipers/toobers there. Then I jumped onto the ladder to the rooftop spawn and knifed all the snipers up there. If I survived, I hid and waited for more to come. When I died, I did it again. I even managed to knife a couple of dudes ont the way there. I got the badge with plenty of time to spare.

It really is the perfect spot because (a) snipers are always spawning up there (b) they can't see you coming up that ladder and (c) they usually can't claymore it because they spawn on a lower rooftop.

So there you go old son - get out there and give it a go!

Be a mdeic on karkand or manchur and only have the knife as your weapon. Don't be tempted to select a gun. Run at the enemy and knife away!

Yeah, the basic wasnt hard to get and I'm on my way to vetran. I think really all you need to do is think of what you're team does when you're on the opposite side. Typically thats what your enemy will be doing, hiding in the same places and snipeing from the same spots. Flank around and JAB JAB JAB lol. Money.

I did it the same way for my vetran badge, lol
Had to do it three times, because the server I played was corrupted and didn't gave me the badge.

I tried for expert knife badge, but still no result yet!!!

--I have all 3 badges, and like you, I found it nearly impossible in the beginning just to get the basic badge.  I found the following to be helpful:

1) Don't spend a lot of time trying to get this on a full 64-player server.  Tickets get lost way too fast, too many guys running around etc.  I would say the optimal is a 20-25 player server running 64 or 32 player maps.

2) You need to create situations where you have the advantage through flanking.  Try approaching enemy positions from odd angles.  Don't try to go from your own spawn flag directly to an enemy spawn flag.  The natural front line will be in your way.  Instead, take a wide route to their flag, and come in from the side.  For example, I had a great deal of success coming in from the north or south of train accident when the main fight was between that flag and the suburb on Karkand.

3) Watch for neutralized flags.  Soldiers capturing flags by themselves tend to be very predictable.  For example on Sharqi at the city entrance.  9 times out of 10, a flag capping infantry will be prone around the corner from the flag, facing out toward the low sandbag wall.  You can run around the building and easily catch him by surprise.  In fact, every time you come to a flag, think about where you would go first to defend.  Typically, the enemy will do the same thing, and you can use that to your advantage.

4) Generally you want to avoid running across open areas.  Stay near buildings and in small alleyways.  If you get into a fight with a guy who is planning on shooting you, your best bet is probably to dive at his feet and swing the knife.

5) Stay calm and be patient.  I found myself charging into crowds of enemies and getting very frustrated when I got gunned down.  Sometimes the opportunity just isn't there.

6) Try playing as sniper.  Although I got the expert badge as a medic, I've found that the sniper uniform is similar enough between the teams that people will tend to hold fire longer on a sniper that is close to them.  The coloring on the uniform just isn't as obvious.

7) Staying away from the 'main fight' is often useful, because you can avoid the enemy UAV.  The UAV is the cause of may failed surprise-attempts.

8) Avoid vehicle heavy maps, or maps that involve a lot of running.  Karkand and Sharqi are the top two maps for the knife badge, I think most players agree with this.
I agree with pretty much everything Tiak said just a few things.

Try and flank large groups of enemies from behind. Chances are you can stab quite a few people or even all of them before they shoot you in the confusion.  This tactic seem to work on larger more full servers contrary to what Taik said.

The best advise is try, try, and try again. You'll pick up on knifing tactics soon enough.

I will state the obvoius: USE YouR MINIMAP all the time, you see directions opponents are going, sneak behind them.  And try going after the lone sheep that wandered away from the flock- if not too far away from your spawnpoint.  Like lions and wolf do.

I preferred the sniper kit for this: you can run/chase faster, or you can be grass or  tree if needed.
Stealth ~!

Also a good/helpful commander who spots enemies OUTSIDE UAV range is a must. On small 16 player maps or half-full 32 servers, you might try being commander yourself to spot enemies.

Karkand and Sharqi maps. 300 ticket per rounds.

nothing is impossible. instead of crying to us about how hard it is, pull out that pigsticker and go gut some enemies. if you put your mind to it, you could kill 40 people in a round with that thing

I got mine on a Karkland Only Server playing a 64 Player map with only 18 people.  Just flashbang a spawn point and run it and start knifing. Also, go prone into a group of prone enemies, they may not shoot because they may TK.

Fringe playing can be fun also, go way on the outskirts of a map, and knife the snipers. Some noob snipers almost always go back to the same spot figuring that the knifing is a one shot coincidence. Snipers are also a good knifing source because the only close range weapon they have is a knife or a pistol. A noob will almost always either try to hit you with the sniper rifle or the pistol, very rarely the knife.

Knife is way better in close combat, better than pistol or machine gun.

And funny thing is, most people infront of their screen seems to get a tad frightened when u pull out that knife, go get them kiddo - a lil practice and u`ll get all three badges.

Got Vet and Expert within two days after i got the 100 globals :-)

If u have a multibutton mouse program one of them buttons to be thy knifebutton, saves time.

or (my cousin did this) you can go to one of those "24/7 Karkand BIG SCORE" Servers and use your knife there, my cousin said he got it in 5 minutes lol, but good luck gettin on one of them they are always full

otherwise use a medic or assault, the best bet for a knife kill is to blind them and not be seen, or heal yourself when your an especially good knifer

maybe work but i think a full map is better, with so few people almost everyone can be in a vechile and theerfore unknifable

totally agree, sit ontop of buildings (eg alleyway sharqi) and wait for passersby and drop in behind them.

A Must for the deceptive kills, if your a sniper not being openly aggressive deep in enemy areas people will take afew moments more to before shooting you, time enough to close the gap and kill them or run to saftey leaviing a claymore as insurance to stop them following. In this way i got 5 claymore and 19 knife kills with 6 deaths in a full 64 sharqi map.

Again a must you cant knife people in vechiles so you want as many options on foot as possible, Also if they cant see you thye cant shoot you... makes killing them so much easier.

If your esspecialy good they wont see you comming so they wont shoot you and a flash on someone who already cant see you makes the run around like headless chickens, just dont get seen. eg. the walking bush
