Is it me, or is this series "different" to previous series? I cant put my finger on it, but its just...different.

<3 'd the hot-air-balloon. That Lambo I also got see at MPHshow...sweet as fuck up close.

All I can say is that Id never want to crash in a Stratos...did you see how low that steering wheel was on his leg? And his driving position? That'd be both hips gone instantly.

im finding this entire series pretty dull

like they're trying too hard to re-write the 'top gear' brand of humour

i liked it when it was just 3 irreverent men talking about cars in a funny style, now it feels like an awkwardly scripted comedy series

Yeah, I can see where zeekins is coming from, something doesn't feel right about this particular series, it's still a good watch though, when there's so little else on British TV you gotta snap up the original shows that are still worth watching.

plus since top gear became 'cool' people like richard hammond (who's a local geezer back home, well known at the local pub) have become total twats. all of a sudden he's 'trendy' and has a haircut like an electrified fox-tail and wears 'groovy' middle-aged leather jackets. the show was just better when the writers and presenters weren't so goddamn self-aware.

I agree, I'm finding a lot of the mishaps hard to believe, can't be arsed to think of any examples but whatever. It's still good, just not as good as the previous series.

I've noticed a trend too. Almost every episode they have a Lamborghini that's been stripped out, and then they spin off some numbers, 0-60 in sub-4 seconds, on to a top speed of ~190. Care? There are already plenty of lambos that do that, and they act like it's never happened before.

I thought the episode was quite good. I love it when they do classic cars. I have to disagree with the Lancia claim, though. Nissan has mad more great cars than any other manufacturer in the world.

my uncle got rid of his racing-modded 350Z, it said it didnt feel as good as the same-level porsches he has had. felt weak and tacky.

beautiful looking cars though, imo.

They just wanted to do a segment on Lancia and used the top car maker thing as a reason for doing it the way they did, I was expecting them to put Aston Martin at the top of the list seeing as everyone including Top Gear seem to wank over Aston Martins all the time

The one I suggested was Porsche. All their cars, except the Cayenne, Panamera and maybe the 914/4 were great.

Ya, but I think it was actually serious. As far as the company that produced the most cars, though, who knows. Still, some of those Lancias DID look quite good.

Well, TBH, Clarkson has gone on about Lancias in the past and how he loves the Stratos. A lot of blokes from work (of the, shall we say, "older generation") agree with him. Their name got tarnished by that cheap Russian steel and the PR disaster.

Even though I completely disagree, and will forever pronounce that Aston Martin have produced the best cars.
