Faced with enormous student loan debts and a difficult job environment many post college young people find themselves returning home the to parents house. Some studies say only one in five college grads will find a job. Some say some kids are giving up 2/3rds of the way through because the fields they were training in offer no jobs.

No savings, no jobs and no clue how to proceed.

Where are these high tech jobs of the future we were promised with NAFTA?
College grads and middle aged laid off people compete for WalMart and bartending jobs and sales jobs for dying companies or managers at crappy chains. The future pays about $12.00 per hour for tens of millions.

I wonder how they will expect people to live and pay for the new mandated health care expenses they are ramming through.

yea sucks job market is awful for those of us who graduated Im back in school thought but still 12 an hour like u said is an average..... these days while we print billions of dollars

College = education.

Would be interesting to see the breakdown in job availability by degree area. I'm willing to bet a lot of those that find themselves asking "you want fries with that?" debated a lot in college.

I read that china is considering opening factory's in the US ( so gracious of them ) to get the economy going, get ppl back to work too pay off that debt we owe them

Jobs that were paying $20/hr 2 years ago are now $14/hr because people are taking them. I really want to switch companies so that my commute isn't 45 minutes each direction, but I can't find anything with a competing wage.

Time to move to Alska's wilderness and live off the land.

Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it

I know I'm going back home, I'll have $60,000 in loans to pay back, easily done if I don't have to pay rent.

How our government justifies loans at interest as "student aid" I'll never know.

Even my own parents are encouraging me to stay at home for a little while to save up some money while I work. I have no problem with that. Better to suffer a little longer at home while saving money for a decent place, instead of trying to save crumbs while nearly living paycheck-to-paycheck.
