Found a hardware comparison (it's in German tho):

Looks incredibly optimized. Hell I think my Laptop could run this decently at 1280x720. Pause at 1:21, and 1:43 and take a look at the comparison between low (niedrige) and High (hohe)

I'm thinking it's Youtube's fault.

But this is one of those things like Crysis vs COD4, the graphics are both amazing but why get something that needs an ub3r PC when you can get something that can run on high with a medium or low end PC.

Heck I could run COD4 on high with an 8800GT. This game looks amazing, but why are those idiots using that ATI junk?

Those "idiots" are using ATi because ATi isn`t half bad...You get pretty good price/performance for what you get. Just because you assume that Nvidia is the be all and end all, it may not be worth its price, let alone performance. It's a goddamn brand for fucks sake. It all does the same thing. If I make a decision to buy a GPU I do my research not act like a blind fanboy. I went from an ati x800 to a 8800GTX to a 4890XT...I make sure that my investment is well worth it. If I get lackluster performance compared to another brand, I will switch.

And of course you could run COD4 on high with an 8800GT. IT CAME OUT THE SAME FUCKING YEAR.

I really enjoyed the first OP. Then all the expansions that came along. The squad command was always interesting, making your own missions too.

Some of the things I didn't like though seem to still be there. In one of the above vids, a grenade is thrown, kills a man who is out of sight yet you still hear the "support, gunner, is down" confirmation. And it all sounds very monotonous and boring when you kill a squad and have to listen to that each and every time you kill someone.  The voice acting hasn't improved at all.

But I'm just nit picking. It should be good.

I'm guessing the system requirements are higher than this shitbox PC can run.

Well guys, in one week the game will be coming out. Being an Operation Flashpoint, ArmA, and ArmA II vet I'm saying with some confidence that this game is going to be the kick-ass new gen of military simulators.

Yes folks, I'm talking about the perfect mix of fun and ultra-realism. Now lets look at the history of this game a bit shall we?

So two years ago, Codemasters announced the development of a new game, to be called Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising. Here is the teaser:

Early 2008 teaser

So although quite unknown to many people, this game continued through development, video after video, with tons of feedback and edits by the devs bases on community feedback. They continued with the CGI for a little while though.

This is one of their most promising videos, which is actually in the game. The multistage effect is amazing.

Tank firing

Here's on of the first videos with actual in-game footage and dev commentaries. This is the Ego game engine video. CM would never have been able to do what they did without this engine, it's used in Dirt 1 and 2, GRID and OPF-DR. It is an amazing video, and CM has been working very closely with Intel to get the most out of it.
Ego engine video

Around early 2009 they released this video of their open world gameplay. Not much to say about it.
Open World

They also released a CGI trailer around the same time. Trying to show what kind of gameplay they're looking for. Which they have achieved.
Trailer

Until mid 2009, not much information about the game had come out yet. The developers were still actively listening to the community and communicating important information, but it wasn't really what the community wanted. The CM community wanted videos. So around May-June 2009, the videos came pouring in, one after the other.

Welcome to Skira Island

E3 preview

Fear and anticipation

Gameplay:

Take the beach, part 1

Take the beach, part 2

Blinding the dragon, part 1

Blinding the dragon, part 2

Hardcore dev video

Vehicles trailer

Here is one of OPF-DR's strongest points, it's amazing COOP gameplay, somewhat like COD:WaW's but better:
COOP gameplay

Sounds of War

Here is a very interesting video explaining the story line of the game:
History of Skira

Multiplayer gameplay video

Fog of War

"Eagle offensive" mission

Here is by far the best video, it was released today. It showcases lots of action and the catastrophic damage the animations can take. Notice the amazing M21 headshot takes off half of the PLA soldier's head. Also the explosion and ripped left side of the PLA soldier's body form an M203 grenade at near point blank explosion range.

Look and feel

I just copy and pasted this from my clan forum, I made this, but it's made for guys who don't necessarily know too much about the game.

I believe that the CGI trailer you mentioned was one of the first videos to be released. There is no way that that came out in 2009 since I remember watching it a few years ago when I first heard about this game.

Nah, not really.

I also come bearing gifts:

Here is a community made sniper video showing sniping clips from the game.

Tracking and assasinating Generals
M82 with a Thermal Scope

And for the next video, I warn you that if you do not want to spoil the game, do not watch this

The First 10 Minutes (PS3)

Spoiler (highlight to read):
The intro is the History of Skira video which was posted a few pages back and the first mission is basically the E3 demo but it looks and sounds a lot more complete than the E3 demo.

Also, here is a new community site where that sniper video came from There is quite a lot of new info on here since these some guys have been allowed access to a playtest.

Damn bullet drop!!!.  What, no cross winds to worry about?  And who the hell drops to prone position when you are getting sniped?

Awesome game.  On pre-order for 360.  Wonder if I should get this for the PS3 since I have the FragFX controller.
