With every single update and every single patch in my gaming life (15 years or so of online play) I've never yet experienced one where everyone is happy. Let's face it, there are a lot of people whose self esteem is linked to how they do in a video game. There are just as many people who dislike any form of change in their life, they love routine. Whenever the first group gets 'nerfed' they bitch and whine and cry and 99% of the time they don't get the reversion that they want and they learn to adapt. The second group usually feeds off the whining of the first group and adds their own element, fear. These are the 'sky is falling' people. You take their fear of change and you add on top of it the fear of getting nerfed and you get a chorus of naysayers with every single update for every single computer program ever written.

It doesn't matter if it's a Firefox update, Windows update, BF2 update etc. Even if it somehow IMPROVES their experience in the long run they will bitch. So please, continue screaming the sky is falling and certain sections of the game are no longer playable. I will disagree wholeheartedly. MY kdr on IO has gone UP since patch

That said, there have been a couple of big fuck-ups with the patches in the past...remember 1.3? Damn servers would crash all the time in the middle of a round

Planes weaker, upgraded AA. - Sweet, it makes non-IO maps playable without a pilot that has been flying for 5 years straight.
Improved hitreg - No complaints here, my KDR has gone up.
Prone deviation - I don't remember being able to fall on my weapon and shoot accurately right away in the Army anyway. IO was becoming a game of 'see who can hit the prone button quicker and pull the trigger'. No complaints here.

1.2 = GL broken, People started J-10 whoring, no more shooting in midair, clayspam (1.2?), blackhawk broken, among many others
1.3 = Squadhopping removed, CTDs/THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CONNECTION
1.4 = Infantry movement nerfed to shit and back, some other stuff
1.5 = Guns made effectively less accurate
Infantry Only was introduced somewhere in that mess too

It's not surprising that people complain about things that are bad. What irks me is HERPALADERP IM SO CLEVER FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT COMPLAINING THIS HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE - kind of people such as yourself.

Its an improvement in certain areas but some would say we'd be better off with sticking with 1.41

But you do remember reviving falling comrades with shock paddles after being shot in the head with a .50 cal? And jumping 6 feet in the air and disarming claymores with your trusty spanner? Those were the good ol days eh?

Stop comparing bf2 with reality. Prone deviation fails and IO has been changed....for the worse, now we still have prone LMG spammers and nade spammers but the gameplay has been slowed down considerably.

EA is bad at patching, that's all there is to it. It's not like this is the only game I play, and with the vast majority of the other games the patches are almost always more good than bad. Sure I don't like some aspects of most patches, but I recognize that they are trying to move the game forward.

With EA, I dunno. It seems to me that for every aspect of the game that they have truly fixed (remember how you would die by barely brushing a moving vehicle?) they have created an all-together new problem that wasn't there before.

That plus the epic instability issues in 1.3...yeah DICE can't patch.

I think our point is you don't change a major part of a game that has been like it has for the past 4 years. Too big a risk, and the only reason it was changed was because people like you bitched and moaned about "prone spamming".

I never really had an issue with prone spamming. I never went on forums bitching about it and I never bitched in game about it. Was it retarded seeing people do the spam/roll thing and not being able to hit them at all for two seconds? Yeah, but so is people bunny hopping in front of you and watching an entire clip miss them. The change isn't that bad and the bads will still be bad.

As for me sitting in a corner with a PKM on Karkand. Lolz. I'm usually a medic and if I'm playing something else I'm the first into the room for a flag cap and tripping all the claymores praying the medic next to me will revive me :p
