Would you try to stop somebody from jumping if you could or would you let them fall because it's their choice or because you wouldn't want the risk?

I'm watching a movie called, The bridge, and a guy stop a girl from jumping by grabbing her. The concept of the movie is that a film crew taped people jumping off the golden gate bridge for a few months.

Anyway would you try to stop someone?

I, for one, say I would unless they were overweight. In that case they're a lost cause.

I saw that movie. It was decent.

I would stop them if I could. More often than not, those people just want attention or it's their way of crying out for help. If they really wanted to die, they'd find another way and would succeed.

That movie is fairly harrowing, I saw it a few years ago. Of course I would do everything in my power to stop someone from committing suicide. Imagine letting people act out their impulses (no matter how bizzare) and then justifying it by explaining "it's their choice..."

Check out the section on the dude with long hair, Gene Sprague? or something. He used to keep a livejournal and there are comments on his page after the fact. You'd probably get a kick out of that.
