BTW is there a way to change the name of the army in the spawn screen so it can say "NATO and ITG" instead of EU and Rebels?

Yeah, but with things like that you have to make your own mod, FFLOKES can help you with that, I mean you could try renaming the EU army "NATO" if you wanted, but Im guessing it will crash to the desktop, I shal try for you.Superior Mind wrote:

I think my fave so far is the Spetz vs China on Great Wall, because of the location and stuff, you could say the SPETZ are there to help the EU.ifixphns2 wrote:

OK, one question:
When you say copy, do you mean Right click>copy? because when I click it, nothing happens..... (sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't know much about modding)

Yeah, right click and copy...VeNg3nCe^ wrote:

You aint doing it right, dont replace anything but the army names, kits and type of soldier. replacing game logics makes it crash, tell me what you were trying to make, and ill write the text strings for you.VeNg3nCe^ wrote:

Haha, sorry, no harm intended. I was just being silly.
It cant be the game logic because I copied the original example you gave. But is this normal?Citizen One wrote:

Did I re-zip the file wrong or something? :s
WTF have you done? I made this clear, you make a seperate folder for messing with the levels, you press copy on the level folder from the mods>bf2>levels directory, paste it into the seperate folder you made, unzip the server.zip file, and open the init.con file, where you replace the text strings, then you zip the contents back up, make sure to delete all the crap that you already unzipped and that stays behind after making the zip file, so your level folder only has the server.zip, client.zip, info folder, and the archive.md5 file. Then copy the karkand folder YOU made, and paste it into the XPACK levels folder. If I were you, I would delete that stuff you done, sounds like you zipped the same file a million times or something.VeNg3nCe^ wrote:

Thank god. What did you make? Remember to check all the init.con files to make sure you write the right strings, I made abou 10 pre made templates to reduce copy and paste time, Ive got like SPETZ vs MECSF, China vs REBELS, you name it!VeNg3nCe^ wrote:

EU versus US?Citizen One wrote:

Edit: Trying to get a map with these two armies into a vanilla BF2 mod/level, here's the Init.con progress I'd been working on so far:
Code:
rem ------------------------------- LevelSettings ------------------------------- rem ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- gameLogic.setTeamName 1 "EU" gameLogic.setTeamName 2 "US" gameLogic.setTeamLanguage 1 "EU" gameLogic.setTeamLanguage 2 "English" gameLogic.setTeamFlag 0 "flag_neutral" gameLogic.setTeamFlag 1 "flag_EU" gameLogic.setTeamFlag 2 "flag_us" gameLogic.setKit 1 0 "EU_Specops" "EU_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 0 "US_Specops" "us_light_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 1 1 "EU_Sniper" "EU_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 1 "US_Sniper" "us_light_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 1 2 "EU_Assault" "EU_heavy_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 2 "US_Assault" "us_heavy_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 1 3 "EU_Support" "EU_heavy_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 3 "US_Support" "us_heavy_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 1 4 "EU_Engineer" "EU_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 4 "US_Engineer" "us_light_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 1 5 "EU_Medic" "EU_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 5 "US_Medic" "us_light_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 1 6 "EU_AT" "EU_heavy_soldier" gameLogic.setKit 2 6 "US_AT" "us_heavy_soldier" rem -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, the Eurofighter and other Euroforces models seem to be hidden away in the .zip for the Euroforces level. Don't worry though, I'm not going to let it defeat me, and I'll will be ripping all the levels apart to get the new models and building the army from scratch if necessary. Then we'll know the answer to a certain serious debate thread for sure
P.s. nice tutorial, good work.
