It's meant for distress in the middle of no where. Ship in peril, stranded on a desert island, etc. Not somewhere where you can call 911.

Because I can back mine up with logic and reason.

Good, then there are zero practical issues with it.

That's all anything boils down to if you let it sit on the burner long enough.

I feel several ways about this.

1)As FM said, he should have got the licence before he spent the money
2)It's just a piece of fabric, which IMHO Americans place far too much value on.
3)As Ajax said, surely flying a flag in distress is a bit like calling 911 without an emergency
4)He was well within his rights to do so

War Between the States. no, the Confederacy had it's own flag.
Flying the flag upside down was like hitting a tack with a sledge hammer. i think, as a veteran he understood this.

when i was in flight school, one of the instructors was the old air force dude.  at that time, there were students from china training there also. (still might be, just like KLM has a training wing at PanAm in Ft. Pierce).  Anyway, one of the guys from China died in a car wreck or something.  the school flew the flag at half mast and the old air force dude got pissed.  he said you do not fly the flag half mast when someone from china dies.  i dunno, i didnt care either way.

How the fuck does a dead guy get pissed when a flag is flown at half mast?

They prob like to celebrate his life rather than mourn his death.  Cultural thing i guess.

By making him take down the flag they were the true anti-Americans. They pissed on the first amendment of the constitution of the land they stand on.

imo that is kinda fucked up...flying the flag at half staff should be for American political figures and American soldiers...er well maybe just the latter. Anyways there are other ways to pay respects, I wouldn't expect it even if it was American civilians who died and not Chinese.

I wouldn't have a problem if they simply corrected the upside down flag to upright, but to steal it? lol

Most Americans fly the wrong flag anyway.  This is the flag they should be flying:

This is such a clear and obvious violation of the first amendment that you have to wonder how the district attorney and those four officers ever managed to get employed in their positions. Hopefully the ACLU will take legal action and win reparations large enough for these idiots to be fired.

"If he wants to protest, let him protest but find a different way to do it,"
we can't march on the street cos of the traffic jams
we can't occupy public buildings because people can't work in them
we can't shout cos it hurts peoples' ears

I'm insane for wanting the dismissal of a district attorney and four police officers who were all willing to ignore the constitution and abuse their governmental positions to impose their personal opinions on a law-abiding citizen? Well, I guess I know where you stand on the topic of corruption now.
