Events I have seen today have changed my entire prospective on such things.

In my job (road cleanup) I work with quite a few African Americans and today I have seen the true face of racism. That black people are just as or more racist to white people than white's are to blacks. Now, I no longer pity those black people coming on tv and the radio whining about equality and rights because they are just as much asses to white people as white people are to them. If they truly want to rise they have to show the world that they can be civilized and not retaliate.

What are your thoughts and have you had any experiences? 0o

We could send them back to Africa.

Slightly related:

I sat down with an employee (a black gentleman) and talked to him about the idea of a white couple adopting a black child.  I asked him his thoughts on it.  He made many statements about keeping the heritage and customs.  I asked what customs, because more than likely he/she would be at least a fourth or fifth generation American.  He said, "you know, street culture".  I asked him what street culture had to do with anything, seeing how the family may not be living in the city.  Basically his whole argument was based on fitting into the inner city culture because at some point he/she would have to interact with those people and shouldn't be made to be an outcast by them.  I then asked him what the inner city culture had to offer that a family would want to teach their child, he repeated the street culture line.  I kept probing to find if there was anything someone should know about the black culture so it could passed onto an adopted child.  He then started talking about physiological issues such as hair care and skin care.  Fair enough, but how is that different than knowing what Mongolian spots are?  He did not have an answer for that.

Basically he was animate throughout the whole conversation that black culture should be taught to the child, but all he could label as black culture was the lingo, mannerisms, and body care.  But black culture must be maintained.

I kept trying to get him look at it as an inner city culture instead of a black culture, but he wouldn't.  I was somehow wrong in trying to take race out of it and blame the environment instead of the person.  Silly Bovine.

I also made the statement that IMHO black people in general were the ones holding themselves back more than anyone else.  I did clarify that I did not think racism is dead, just that the black population are doing more to hold themselves back than anyone else now.

Inb4racistcard.

Blacks take racism to the whole another level then whites, black people care way more then us white people,  we don't really care what you say about us. I see it all the time at work.

I just hate how it something happened to a black person and there is a white person involved its so called discrimination. Now if something happened to a white guy and there was a black dude involved its nothing, you don't see a white guy go on the news with a crowd of white people screaming RACISM or DISCRIMINATION. Yeah that was my point for a lot of the conversation.  He said it didn't matter, he/she would eventually have to deal with the gangstas and needed to know the lingo.

He wouldn't have to deal with them if he makes the right life choices. Go to school, stay in school, learn a trade or go to college, get a job, pay your bills etc. Pretty simple way to avoid having to deal with gangbangers/rednecks/cholos

I hate it when people talk about shit and then don't actually say what happened. Most of us don't give a fuck about your stupid personal opinions unless you have something decent to back it up with

Racism goes only one way, only when the white insults others, not the other way around.

He employs Mexicans to use as foot stools.

But seriously, can the OP either post something of value, or can a mod lock this thread?

Yes but did they actually mess with him because he was white and not black? Did they racially taunt him? Was he picked on because he wasn't black?
Dude your op is week as water. Beef it up abit or delete it as a waste of time. No facts to comment on. People mess with ppl all the time.

It was more of just a vent but I have another example 0o

We where in the van heading home from a hard days work when all of a sudden a car pulls in front of us cutting us off a little. The driver (black) went to go see this mystery cutteroffer. It turned it out it was a white person on a cell phone. She immediately started throwing racist comments around and how white people are the only people who talk on the cell phone and drive. I was about to bust out loling but then I was like meh not worth my time.

Agree.

Suddenly black people don't deserve any respect because he heard a few of them say some nasty stuff at work.

One thing I truly hate is when something occurs in a program, done for comedic effect without any racial intent, and is branded by groups who for some reason establish a connection and call out racism or stereotypes. E.g the twin robots in the new Transformers. That was done for laughs and not racism, yet several people think it was some sort of shot at certain groups, even though they established it was stereotyping (meaning they obviously must have thought of that stereotype as well to point it out).

I dislike racism as much as any person who thinks, but there are cases where one group will get more support or attention for anything deemed slightly racist than another, and that's what I think is wrong. If there's meant to be some whole equality thing going on, all racism needs to be treated the same, whether its done against whites, blacks, asians, hispanics or penguins.

Actual racism though with malicious intent, and not stuff done as banter or for good-hearted jokes (see Blazing Saddles).

Black people deserve no more respect than anyone else of a different color. If you lived in this country then you would know that that is not always the case.

If that was meant to be black they didn't do a very good job stereotyping them. I thought they were rednecks.
