The press is simply not hiding anymore. In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda.

This last line is true. I had the very same thought while reading the paper this morning. If our presidencies just progress via blaming everything on the predecessor and undoing all of that work, we're not going to make any progress. Also, I got tired of the crazy liberal folk who wouldn't shut the hell up about Bush when he was in office and now the crazy conservatives won't put a sock in it about everything Barack does.Mekstizzle wrote:
I knew there would be a big crazy liberal backlash after 8 years of crazy neo conservatism but this is a bigger one than even I thought!
You guys can't do anything right these days without swinging, wildly, from left to right and right to left

During Bush, FOX was the state-run media
This time around, it looks like ABC or maybe CNN is
Dude, the media from day one was controlled by the political elite...the founding fathers fostered public sentiment for their vision of our country through thinly veiled "news" and commentary in the form of pamphlets and newsletters and letters to the editor. Much is the same for modern media today - policy is thought up and forced to the public in the form of editorials in major newspapers all the time. Think tanks flood editorial pages with new policy proposals to bounce them off the public - to test opposition or support for their agendas/proposed policies. The media parrots the corporate concentrated capital line, end of. It doesn't parrot solely Dem or Repub viewpoints, it parrots the diarrheaic mindset of the people in charge, the bleeders of individual thought and dissent.ATG wrote:
Ken, what does that have to do with the merits of the story, for five hundred.

The day the press ceases to be skeptical and even hostile to whoever is president is the day the country begins to die.
This is how to create an ENEMY! This is how to START A WAR!Hurricane2k9 wrote:
"Fourth step: Have the media broadcast only the ruling party's information
This can be done through state run media.
Remember, in times of conflict all for-profit media repeats the ruling party's information.
Therefore all for-profit media becomes state-run."
lol, I was wondering if someone would get it.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:
