So do ever go listen to the sound you are so hard artificially trying to create all the time? (would be pretty silly if u were wanting to create something you don't even go listen to irl, right?)

Good audio hardware hardly ages. Truly, I have a 1989 Harman/Kardon setup which beats anything I've seen under 6000 euros. And believe me, that thing goes. It was expensive, but worth twice the amount.

However, I'd like to remind everyone involved of one thing: your amp/EQ/phenomenal setup is worthless if you have shit speakers. Freezer, from what I've seen you are great at tinkering with capacitors and stuff, but what speakers do you have? And .Sup, me mate, do you even use speakers at all?

Some of you may have seen my home theatre setup. There are 6 speakers integrated in the walls. There's one sub on the isolated mount. The room's irregular as shit, but the sound is balanced, as I like it. It's not a perfect sine wave. It's not ever used for playing FLACs.

It's been oriented and EQd by me, for me. I don't intend to replicate the studio sound. Why? Because I'm not in a studio. I'm at home, relaxing to the beat of whatever I can find. If I wanted to find the perfect sound, I'd spend my life chasing it.

It doesn't exist.

I'm enjoying the music rather than whining about the fact that I'm 0.2 Hz off. That, to me, is a difference which makes the concept of "home audio" worth something--it's far from shit, but it's not perfect. It's as I like it, for my taste, rather than some numbers on the back of a box.

ITT/Lorenz 10" top-mounted sub, 4" Peerless mid and 1" ITT/Lorenz dome. 50L closed boxes, 50W. They require some equalization for top performance, and they're bloody sensitive to placement, but if you get those right, they're quite good. Also have a pair of Sony reference monitors on my desk.

If anything happens to them, I fix it. That's one of the main reasons I like this stuff. If the units wouldn't have had some issues, I wouldn't have gotten my stuff for so cheap/free.
