I didn't me specifically tuequoise, I was addressing the massesTurquoise wrote:
Hey, I haven't argued against you on that one. Sexism is very prevalent in the Islamic World.lowing wrote:

wear a veil and not be heard, . Also her equal rights would be under suspension for the duration, nothing intolerant about that I suppose. But yeah lets no acknowledge intolerance in Islam.ghettoperson wrote:

As it happens, I'm perfectly aware of the Saudi's attitudes to women, but I don't think that's why she wasn't there. After all, it's not like women are illegal in Saudi Arabia; Michelle being there would not be a problem, she'd just have to wear a veil.

Sweet. Laura Bush doesn't know how close she came to peril, eh? It's funny that I haven't seen any acid attack victims in any of my travels in the middle east. Did you see any in the Gulf? I'm sure it happens but it's probably about as common as child sex trading in western nations.

Good point. More needs to be said addressing that. I live among a lot of Indian immigrants who have some horror stories to tell about how Hindus treat Muslims and Christians.CameronPoe wrote:

actually no, I just wanted you to admit that Islam is a violent, and intolerant religion. Now that you finally have done so, you are dismissed to seek out your therapist with my blessing.CameronPoe wrote:
Another lowing thread about how other nations conduct their internal affairs based on their own culture, heritage and tradition. Shock horror!!! Will he next be posting about how the caste system in Hinduism restricts the freedoms of Indians to progress out of the gutter? I wouldn't think so - it's only Islam lowing is obsessed with. So Islam has some pretty archaic attitudes towards women, wow. Hold the fucking press. Do you care about what Muslims feel about you and how you want to live your life? No. Then why should they give a flying fuck about you? Predominantly Islamic nations hold the prerogative to govern themselves in whatever manner they see fit so long as they don't do so to the detriment of external parties. Same way America/Ireland/France/Poland can govern itself whatever way it sees fit so long as it doesn't antagonise, bully or harm external parties to it. It seems to me that lowing is intolerant of the choices that people in far flung nations have made, a position he is entitled to but at the end of the day makes him obsessive and hypocritical. The only real concern he could legitimately have is if vast swathes of American Muslims rejected the laws and constitution of the nation of which they are citizens, which of course they don't. So I guess this is just more hot air of the forum's biggest windbag.

Yeah well, as soon as a plane load of Hindus start flying into buildings, blowing up resorts, commuter trains, embassies, and strapping bombs to children, women, dead bodies, and dogs, all in the name if whatever in the hell Gods they worship, get back with me and I will discuss my outrage.Turquoise wrote:

I spent time in Iraq, have you? I have spoken at length to Muslims, played table tennis quite a bit with a few, got to know them and yes like them. I listened in broken English as a man told me of his father who was murdered by Saddam in '86.Spark wrote:
Once again, lowing has a nice rant about how all the evils of the world are due to Islam, despite clearly never talked to a Muslim in any decent description.
Not to worry, because he clearly knows the religion better than its followers!
Oops better read up on Sharia Law before you break out "its a tool not the religion" argument.DrunkFace wrote:

Intolerance is part of countries, not the religion. It is a tool used by the leaders in power to control and further their own agendas, no different to gay rights in western countries on the premise of christianity.
