Then again, when my class watched a few episodes I was one of the few who found it funny.

Cheese is a kind of meat.

A tasty yellow beef.

I milk it from my teat.

And try to be discrete.

@ Calibre, I did prefer 'And now for something completely different' tbh.

I think one of the best comedy things ever is something called 'The 12th man'.  I think most of you 'Strayians might now it, for those that love cricket and can remember some of the older players it's absolute genius.  Its audio only as far as Im aware.

They take piss out of all the commentators by impersonating them with Richie Benaud being the main one.

The wiki stuff bout it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelfth_Man

Theres a whole host of the stuff but if you don't like cricket it's wasted as you need to know the commentators voices and the irony of whats being said.

@ 27, heard of it, seen a little bit of it thanks to a mate. He did his major independent study in Yr 12 history on Australian Cricket.

Monkey dust is great! The bloke going home to his wife (Clive) always makes me laugh....

My favourite British comedy series may well be the New Statesman. Loads of greats; Brass Eye, Jam, Big Train...

How has no one mentioned Yes Minister yet? Many would consider that to be the best.

Haha, so true. Don't think it's the best ever, but certainly in terms of more recent shows.

Was so epic when SBS had it on TV first. I was 15 or so.

Anything to do with 42:

- Has not been made into a show
- Relies on various inconsistent version of a multiple episode story
- Is too epic to be called funny

I think people easily forget that, because after all it features French and German characters, but seldom any Brittish nationals. It is great though, probably number two on my list.

Perhaps the best "recent" production I daresay. I'll never forget the Taj Mahal candybox and "Kiss My Chuddies" performance.
