Saving Private Ryan suck if you'd ask me. I think Band of Brothers is the best modern WWII production. A Bridge too Far is my alltime WWII favourite. I still want to see Grozovie Vorota and 9th Company.

I just finished watching Downfall... It was actually pretty good. But I still have a question regarding it...

Spoiler (highlight to read):
How come near the end of the movie, that woman (can't remember her name already) uses the "medicine" to make the kids unconscious and then kills them with the poison?

Because she only has it in capsules that you have to bite, so making the kids bite it would be hard (especially the older ones), also she might have thought it was less painful or something

Get out.
they're good in terms of filming technic, but they're also disgustingly one-sided and full of pathetic pathos
He asked for good movies not good documentaries ...

I always loved A Bridge Too Far and Black Hawk Down.

Also, if it counts, Master and Commander.

If it does, I'd like to nominate the French 'Napoleon' miniseries as well.

A Bridge to Far.
Zulu... Damn spiffing film. Rather stiring when they start to sing at each other.
Wild Geese. Old classic... Wonder if this was where Mark Thatcher got his ideas from?
MASH. Different, but a classic.
Cross of Irons. This is not a bad film.

And my personal favorite

Nothing more stiring than watching Jerry getting a damn good thrashing in the skies..... Tally Bally Ho, with a Ying a yang and a yipper de dip!

If that does as well, I'd like to nominate the English 'Hornblower' miniseries as well.

Hmmm,.. don't know really, it is a great series, but it is more of a fictional soap/drama series set against a historical war background

I did not see Kelly's Heroes listed.   yes it is not historically accurate by any means but it is an epic film with an epic cast!

my bad Varegg mentioned it.

You need watch Band of Brothers (World War 2) and Generation Kill (Iraq). Both are series, and have won multiple awards to recollection.

That is the worse movie ever made. Made the Russians all look like idiots with nothing better to do then fart out candles.

The shooting also failed, the story failed, the one sex scene even failed.

I donno if BF2s allows long enough posts for me to type in all the GOOD war movies I've ever scene.

But I'd start with Band of Brothers.
