I am starting the fail thread now... so far, i download waiting in anticipation for an hour, finally done, join the server, load forever to optimize shaders, and kicked back to the server select screen, try again, fail, try again, fail try ag... so i waited an hour for no reason! yay!

O WAIT. I did delete those stupid intro movies, and legal messages, that must be why im gettin the error...

But wait! as i type this i get another error about the objects_client, and another about tarabra quarry client! And another about xpack object_client...

I just ignored em all, time to see if it'll work anyway!

I feel like the hitreg, although inconsistent, has been somewhat improved. I say inconsistent because on the whole, enemies were easier to kill, but I did notice more dusty shots (mostly on myself) than usual.

I think it's a little bit earlier to make a solid judgment though.

Cotrrect, And for me the aussie, they're all over seas, i'll prolly endup hosting one for a while....

Also, VISTA 64BIT ULTIMATE

The patch patches to C:\Games\Battlefield 2

So i had to reinstall the game to this directory and re-patch... Works perfectly now.

EDIT: IT HAS WIDESCREEN SUPPORT

Download http://www.download3k.com/Install-Visual-MD5.html

Find 1.5 beta on your HDD and get the MD5.

If it's the same as this checksum, you've got the right download, if it's not you're going to have to redownload the patch.

Here a solution - (not entirely simple) that I found:

In order not to have to re-install to play 1.41 servers:

Bazaa have already posted this but here you go!

I recommend you don't do this as its always had problems in the past.
However to do it follow this guide:

Copy your Battlefield 2 install to another location
Install the update
This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it originally installed.

To go back to 1.41

Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 1.50
Rename the copied install (1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
Click START>RUN
Type: regedit
Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA

GAMES\Battlefield 2
There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
Run Battlefield 2 as normal

Just completed Download will try soon.

Well, I was CTD'ing I figured it was because I deleted movie files, had localization files changed, had custom maps installed in the folders, so that might have been the reason I got all those errors.

I went ahead and uninstalled. So now I have a new question:

Should the BF2 and SF install go like how it does for the 1.41 patch? That is:

Install BF2
Patch 1.41
Install SF
Patch 1.41

Like that? But do it with 1.5 instead? Should there be an order to it?

can't you just make a copy of the BF2 folder, then rename one of them to whatever and when your done, rename the 1.5 folder to something else, and the 1.41 folder back to Battlefield 2?
