you are becoming awfully close to rammuntion posts. replace the word war criminal with zionism and its hard to distinguish.
He is. George W. Bush isn't though.usmarine wrote:

you seem a bit myopic yet tell someone to widen their view.
Justice is blind, Braddock. It doesn't matter who he threw the shoes at. It was assault/attempted assault (whatever you'd like to call it).Braddock wrote:
Look at the wider picture of what has happened in Iraq... a bogus reason to go to war, lies about WMD, a bombing campaign of "shock and awe" proportions, a society reduced to chaos, women and children slaughtered, ethnic tensions unleashed, thousands upon thousands of people injured, millions of lives ruined and while the guy responsible for kick starting all of this sits back on the ranch and enjoys his retirement an Iraqi who threw a shoe at him in disgust at the carnage inflicted on his country sits in a prison for a year.Poseidon wrote:
So basically you only really find it unfair because you think Bush is a "war criminal"?Braddock wrote:
So he should have been punished for attempted assault... in my country I've seen people get suspended sentences for full blown grievous bodily harm and this guy gets a year inside for missing a war criminal with a shoe, that's what I find unfair.
Given the context he should have gotten a suspended sentence and a slap on the wrist imo. If Bush had any sense he could have shown himself to be a gracious war criminal and pushed for clemency, it might actually have improved his profile if that were at all possible.
Shit man, like I said, I'm no fan of Bush either, but can you not see what's wrong with that?
...that's just not fair in my book. I understand the guy broke a law but in my personal opinion it pales in comparison compared to the laws broken by the man he aimed the show at.
If I kill someone who murdered a homeless guy, I'm still going to get charged with murder.
i bet if i agreed with you and your bro all the time you wouldnt say that. you know its true so dont deny it.Braddock wrote:

People like FEOS, Kmarion and ATG don't agree with everything I say and I have plenty of respect for them... maybe that's because they can form arguments, string sentences together and actually debate a topic seriously.usmarine wrote:

That's true, I agree with you that a crime was committed regardless of the victim but I still feel the sentence was harsh though. I've had the absolute shit kicked out of me in the past and seen the guy walk out of court with a fine... I dunno, maybe they have loads of room in Iraqi prisons or something.Poseidon wrote:

As I've said in other threads about this - compared to what would've happened to him under Saddam if he threw his shoes at a foreign leader (or even at Saddam himself)...it's certainly progress.Braddock wrote:

You don't consider going from this man having boiling water tossed on him, his nails ripped out one by one, fingers broken and limbs severed while his family is raped and killed in front of him to a year in jail for assault/attempted assault progress?Beduin wrote:

What the hell did you expect to happen in 6 years? Flowers and candy to rain from the sky when it rains and sounds of laughter instead of thunder?Beduin wrote:

It's going to take time for Iraq to progress - it ever fully does, which I doubt.
His sentence is a year less than the maximum. How is it harsh? Its their law. He broke it. Deal with it.Braddock wrote:

Assault with a shoe? Is this the pussified legal definition of the term you're using, or are you seriously suggesting that it realistically qualifies as assault, and that it should warrant years in jail? I hope for your sake that the latter isn't it.Vilham wrote:

No matter how you look at this it's assault.
And lol, I don't believe there is such a crime as attempted assault.
It's a fucking shoe, guys. Get real.

yes and how he abused that and invaded kuwait and gassed his own people. i dont quite get what you are saying rammudock.
where was i not serious? you babbling about war criminals and such when the topic is about something completely different is serious? wow ok. see, thats why you only get a few words rammudock. because you are very very one sided and take threads in different directions. see, ATG and FEOS think they might change your mind or something. i know better and you are not worth more than a few sentences.Braddock wrote:

oh...and GS responds exactly how i do. usually a few words or a few lines. and you dont cry then. so stop being a baby.

we live in a land of laws. when the laws get broekn, you will be punished. if you didnt have a criminal record before chances are you wont be punished as severely as if you did.

more sentences next time also pls.
If you try fucking with a powerful world leader (or just someone with a lot of money in general) expect to be punished no matter what you did.... 3 years may have been a little long but I think if someone in America tried that they'd most likely get the exact same sentence...
