OK I just joined the team. We'll see how many points I can produce with my cranky old Athlon64 3200+ running Vista. The thing sits for so much of the day I might as well make use of it. I tried using the GPU client but my x800 pro apparently is too old If anyone has some suggestions on tricks they've found to increase points-per-day let me know. I'll try and browse through this thread, too, and see what I can find.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Yo, is it safe enough to leave my rig folding away for 2 days without attention?

I've left my rig folding without attention for 7 days once. It was still running when I got home and everything is OK. So yes it's perfectly safe.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
You got a problem with that? I mean, I don't HAVE to contribute to the team... If my piddly Athlon64 3200+ just doesn't put out enough for the BF2S team I can take it elsewhere...Freezer7Pro wrote:

I think he's just surprised that you are able to run Vista smoothly on a 3200+. Every little bit helps, we definitely want you folding with us.JdeFalconr wrote:

Hehe, I was just kidding...I'm glad to be able to contribute. Considering how old this system is sometimes I'm surprised too that it's somewhat stable.
I'm in baby, downloaded everything but FaHMON is a problem for me! So I've left it alone! Not that techy ha ha! So I joined BF2S and as was said before every little helps

Congrats for getting into the top 200 (189 of 154448). Now for that 100 mark!

Should these parameters: -advmethods -forceasm -verbosity 9
be added to the GPU client as well as the SMP? for some reason I thought the parameters were only for SMP.
