I find it funny that we repeatedly get posts in here about how big, bad America and its military is and yet when there is news like this, the left leaning trolls don't seem to want to post it. Oh, but a few in these forums can't wait to troll something in the early internet news to post in here. I give credit where credit is due and it seems that some things have been accomplished and people are getting freedoms they never had or thought they would never get.

There is obviously a shift happening away from Iraq to other areas now, mainly Afghanistan and Pakistan. The foreign fighters and Al-queda have given up on Iraq for the most part and are now setting up elsewhere. At least this time we might get help from Russian and other countries in these countries. Again, I wonder why this type of news is not being posted all over here?? Oh, that's right because it isn't negative for the anti-american trolls in here. Oh and for the whiners...it isn't Fox News

All in all, if Osamas stated goals were to bankrupts america and turn its people against the leadership, and ours was capturing or killing OBL, a rational person would have to say we lost the war.



Mind you, I take a long view towards war. I believe we won Vietnam, because our goals was to go against Russia and its expansion. We stopped them. Vietnam went to hell but that wasn't part of the concern of the strategic battle plan, so we did nothing.


Our post 9-11 behavior can only be viewed as a success if the goal was to get a majority of the world to hate us, go totally broke as a nation and to fail at getting Bin Laden.

Hmmm.....So where was your post when some in here condemn the whole American army for individual acts. I didn't see anyone post...

I agree with much of what you have said here but I really get tired of the negative BS in these forums about how terrible we are and when there is actually good news, there is hardly anyone taking any effort to even inform the public or even these forums. I actually believe that we need to focus much more at home and spend money where we really need it now. In the meantime, positive news seems to take a back seat in almost all parts of mainstream media, especially the internet.

It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. It has to do with people in these forums living by double standards and posting everything they can to put America in the worst light it can. Here we have a video of people, especially women, who probably appreciate the turn around the country of Iraq is experiencing. I find it funny when people post so much negativity and yet ignore the positives that are now happening. Just look at the current lists of posts and you will see a couple of posts attacking what we have done there, painting a broad picture because of individual actions.

I live a life of reality where there are always two sides to the story and more news and experiences that the news and internet trollers want to ignore. I don't consider myself conservative or liberal, I just choose to understand that the picture is much bigger than the trolls in these forums want to even try to listen to. My post isn't about "me", it is about talking about sides many people here choose to ignore.

I understand that but the point still is that things are changing for the better but no one wants to talk about it and they still want to harp on a few idiots who have gone beyond what is expected of our military. I know that women in Iraq probably were better off than most women in other Arab countries...but honestly that isn't saying much either. As long as news like this is out there, it should be up there with the BS many people post in here over and over.

Of course there is a push for Sharia law but there is also a push against it. As far as I can tell, the push against it is winning out right now. Like I said in a previous post, who really knows. I know full well what Sharia is and what it can do and again in these forums, everybody uses it according to their agenda.

You are one of the guys who cries that its a small issue, that Islam is not a threat, but then you bring these links and posts and make it seem like it is inevitable. So which is it? Sharia law is reaching its ugly hands into many parts of the world, even Muslims I know (half of my family) do not want it and are living under threats of it. In one moment you put your head in the sand, the next you are proclaiming it a threat to women in Iraq.

I don't quite agree with your assessment of Vietnam, but...  the general idea is that invading Iraq was really more for their benefit than ours.

At this point, I'm just glad that we're moving out of Iraq.  The war in Afghanistan is more relevant, although Pakistan seems like the next target....
