Right so your experience in the most peaceful area negates everyone elses experience in none peaceful areas as well as negates the facts of the war as a whole.

Almost,
Almost at one point. Slight difference of opinion at one point. But now things are back on track between many groups.

Your assumption of my life is rather amusing. At least to me. I know my life and I could say I've had much experience throughout it.
I like how you legitimized people telling you what you want to hear them say through bribes. No matter how much you bribe someone into doing something they will still have their feelings and once they see a good moment to take what they really want or once the money stop coming in they'll turn on you. You can never win a person's heart through bribes.

I apologize for my not clarifying the area I was in. It was the AL Anbar province, used to be the most violent, now it is one of the most peaceful.

If they are so back on track, why are freedom fighters leaving Iraq and going to Afghanistan?

The bribe part is how that region runs. They are one step above the stone age in most parts. They work for the strongest group, which happens to be the US. We can pay a lot more then the insurgents.

What experience do you have in Middle East countries? I would like to hear how you became a expert on workings of Iraq. I am speaking from personal experience. True, they want us out of their, but they also want to learn from us.

I never said they were freedom fighters. Whatever you think about the people you fought against is up to you but don't attribute what you think of them to me. I simply am looking at their perspective on the situation. On the Insurgents leaving...it may be because Iraq might end soon and they're going to the next battlefield or maybe they're tired of the same damn place. I cannot speak of the entire insurgency.

Yes and once the money stops coming in or they see a better way to make money without you, they will turn on you.

None. I never claimed to be an expert on Iraq. I'm speaking from the aspect of how people work. When people are threatened by a large force they tend to work together. When somebody in another persons place and they're not like them the people of that place tend to try to expel them. When you try to use bribes to get people to work for you in turns them into cash grubbing dicks who you've just programmed to give up their beliefs for cash. Once you run out of it or they can make more other ways they're going to fuck you over.

Not anything, but its war, you cant control everything that's happening, you send soldier to another country, load of soldiers, you cant expect that everything will goes as planned...Also, they got deployed to actually kill. I do not say that killing "innocents" is a good thing but well...Killing people in another country when its not your fucking bussiness is not really any better.
Being able to control things doesn't play into it. It doesn't matter that it didn't go as planned. It's murder, and anyone who would defend or discount it by reason of it "being war" is an idiot. Plain and simple.

Actually, anyone who does not see what war does to people, who otherwise would never do shit like this, is the idiot.

Wonderful US military training can turn people into flakes. I know I was a bit touchy with two hours of sleep. But I think this [lame excuse-making] is more of a case of 'you're all special' training received in gradeschool.

So I guess all military branches are staffed by idiots for punishing these actions by death, huh? Don't be an idiot. It's not a trade secret what war does to people. That's why soldiers are trained, and not just handed a rifle and told to kill people. They need to live up to certain standards.

of course there you are assuming that every person killed by US forces in Iraq is a "soldier"

most of the casualties arnt. im not saying the US is evil blah blah.

but alot of innocent Iraqi's have died yet every (well almost) american killed in Iraq was a soldier or in some Iraqi's eye an invader.
You do miss one small item.  What about the Iraqi civilians killed by the insurgants attacks, bombs, intimidation tactics?  Not every Iraqi civilian killed is done so by American soldiers.

Soldier commits murders.  Soldier is being tried for said murders.

I don't see the problem here.  We're following the due process of law, and if found guilty, he will be punished accordingly.

When you come from civilized moral background, and are tossed into a situation where civility and morality does not exist, it changes a person. I have talked to soldiers that say they are full of adrenalin, and a sense that they can do whatever they want. and they "love this shit". They must restrain themselves. Sometimes in the wrong frame of mind they do not until they come off of their rush and it sinks in as to what they have done.

Usmarine and a few others might have a perspective worth listening to. I am only telling you what I got from conversations with soldiers while I was there. I personally, have no idea.

Yeah. God forbid someone tells them the truth.

In spite of the colorful language and clear emotion, he's spot on about the problems they are facing over there.
