). An RPG which focuses more on the RPG and less on the action which seems so prevalent these days. Combat system is fun if a bit annoying early on when fighting swarms of rats.
Dawn of War is good, massive game and still played a fair bit online. I really enjoy it, especially the necrons from Dark Crusade.
Dues Ex. I have it on my system right now played through twice before over the years. Just tidying up the first part of the game again, replaying it because I've learned I still haven't seen a few things, in particular a certain conversation with an AI I want to see. It is a must play imo. Starts slow and difficult due to scarce ammunition but once you get a few decent augs and turn yourself into a juggernaut of destruction like Neo, or start digging into the stealth/hacking style of gameplay deeply it gets brilliant. Bit of a dodgy plot but highly immersive. Hoping that Warren Spector's currently top secret game is as good as Dues Ex was.
For added flavour, try doing what JC Denton is meant to be doing at the start of the game rather than following the prompts from his NPC bosses. Act like a cop and don't shoot everybody in sight. Has to be played through two or three times to see everything. There are 3 ways to enter the main structure of the first mission alone (hacking, stealth and following the suggested objectives). It's in avaliable cheap all over the place for any who want legal copies and there are numerous methods of acquiring it online for nothing for any who can't be stuffed forking out a tenner for the disc.
System Shock 2. Could never get it running properly under XP but the first level or so I could play without crashes was one of the most tense, spooky things I've ever played. The game is worthless without audio though. By all accounts it's brilliant.
The Total War games. Rome is good, Medieval 2 is great.
