Answers to specliasist:
1) more lag. ping will go up quite a bit
- Lag, wether it is network lag or graphics lag, can be avoided. Current broadband connections can take it, current servers have enough power and network capacity to take it... Graphics lag? Well, if there are 100 players in the same screen it might affect some older graphics cards. That is your personal issue if you cant afford a better one. But in PR -mod due the large scale maps it is highly unlikely to have that situation, so problem doesnt exist. In vBF2 you can have your max 64 players, again it doesnt needs to be changed. This is just about enabling the engine to go over 64 if someone wants it, and people playing the mods wants it.

Next, this term 'ping' you are using is about how long it takes for a packet to travel from place A to place B. This value is based on your location and in how congested your network usage is, it doesnt have anything to do with 100 players... Unless you are using dial-up.

2) more asshats noobs running around Tking each other/ immature insults flying like grenades

Asshats can stay playing vBF2 with their 64 player Karkand city. Again, the game doesnt need to be affected... It is just about enabling the engine to go over 64 players if someone wants it to happen.

3) 114 noobs is just too much for an administrator to keep up with. there might as well be no admin. and i hear about this auto admin crap which to be quite honest is even worse.

114 noobs can TK in 64 player servers, again.. Nothing needs to be changed, this is only about enabling the servers to go over 64 if someone wants it to happen.

Those who have more brain would realize, that most of you vanillaplayers wouldn´t even see such a server, if DICE would make it possible to increase the player limit.

Ranked Servers do cost money. Someone has to pay for each and every single slot, so you retards can go on this server to throw your nades. A 64 Slot Server is already expensive enough, that´s why most of the clanservers are in the 32er size. There wouldn´t be many Clans, who would rent a 114 players server anyways and maybe most of the Rankedserverproviders wouldn´t even offer this option. DICE wouldn´t have to redesign the game for this, because they could simply set the limitation, that this size couldn´t be used for ranked playing.

Remember: This is nothing, that has to affect your daily Karkand Gameplay. It would just be another option, which would make an awsm Mod like PR more awsm.

I think one day it will happen when the ISPs get better it would be so good to have something like 1000 players in 1 server on a massive map. Maybe they could make a thing where you have lots of maps joined together in a certain area and each map is a random server that you join with 64 players max in each and you could walk to the next part and it loads and you join another server etc obviously it would be different people every time you go into a different part but if the loading times are quick it would make it seem like a bigger map- if that makes any sense lol

i would love to see a game with 1000's of players like a proper ww2 game where the games are 24/7 and you just log in and start playing for your team whenever, now though 64 players is enough for the limits of computers and the internet in most places so i am happy.

With BF2 netcode this would be impossible. Hitboxes would fly anywhere between 5 and 50 meters of the models.

Even Kashan only needs room for 1 maybe 2 more squads per team.

80 player server would be enough for any PR map

Wow. I missed this thread the first time. As I skimmed, a lot of people pointed towards the ablility of the servers to cope as a reason not to do this. But in reality, many physical servers run several instances of the BF2server software, so there is no reason they couldn't run fewer instances with more connections per server (AFAIK). I don't see why there shouldn't be a higher limit of players. I mean, if admins don't like it they can limit to fewer players... the more the merrier if you ask me (for big maps anyway).
