The article itself doesn't offer any real proof.
It quotes some guy. Which whilst not overwhelming proof, it's more than you're currently offering.

The rest of my post IS relevant.  And so is the one that Aussie just posted.

Palin is the idiot.
Assume? Are still trying to say Damon wasn't being serious?

Yes, if he can be misled by a lefty INTERNET BLOG JOKE, he is an idiot.

No it's not relevant. Let me remind you, we are talking about Matt Damon said and how utterly wrong he was.
Again, what's more idiotic?  Being misled by an internet article or believing in a ridiculous interpretation of religion?
See, here you go again. At what point did you think this was a debate over who is dumber?

Here's what I don't get, Kerry.

You and I tend to agree on some things, but I don't see why you're defending Palin.  She's one of the most idiotic candidates the Republicans have ever had.  She's like a female Dan Quayle.

The only reason I'm defending Damon is because we haven't even seen much about him.  He's just said a few things in interviews.  With Palin, we saw more than enough, and we've definitely seen more than enough of Kristol.

Some guy that was quoted in a newspaper is generally more widely accepted by people as the truth than  some guys post on an internet forum. I assume the newspaper did some research to prove that he was who he says and he had some sort of acquaintance with Palin. All you're saying is he's wrong.

But in any case, if the LA Times is printing that as fact, whether or not it is true, it's perfectly possible that that is where Damon got his opinion from and not from a parody on the internet.

I don't really see it as a lefty joke, personally.  Even if I was more conservative socially, I'd still find Palin idiotic and the joke about her funny.

Damon was apparently mistaken, but the joke itself doesn't seem too far from the truth.

I mentioned Sarah P kind of as a joke. She is very intelligent and so is Matt Damon for that matter. I just get tired of hearing actors and musicians
telling us whats right or wrong.
Now they are proud of the US and they pledge to help...  Nobody has been stopping them in the past 8 years.
Bono is very active and he didn't feel stymied by Bush or anything else. Lucy Lu(sp) has been active and Bob Geldof also
the rest can put up or shutup.
What happens if OB loses in 4 years, will they go back to not doing anything and pledge to live in Huge houses and drive expensive cars and thats it?

I guess it is seen as an unfair advantage. They are exploiting their position (who doesn't really ). Professional politicians should be given the spotlight, the microphone, and the podium. Let them sell their platform.. it's scary to think that Jason Bourne or "Nacho Libre" is swaying votes.

I think you'll find that very few actors aren't opinionated.  It's kind of their nature.  Depp has actually said some pretty disparaging things about America, but honestly, I thought some of them were pretty accurate.

Still, I can level with you somewhat.  I don't like some of the egos that actors have, like Tom Cruise, but when it comes to politics, I'm ok with either side being supported by whoever.

If Dennis Hopper likes Bush, more power to him.  If Damon likes Obama, good for him.

The only reason these guys do actually speak up is because some people are swayed by them.  It is kind of sad that an actor has that power, but then again, when did most people actually vote on policy?

yeah... i agree about Johnny Dump... he moved to France because he was disgusted with the US(The place that provided him the ability to use his talents to get rich acting)
and had to move because France was so riotus

Well, Tom Hanks and Ron Howard did find some creative ways to endorse Obama.  Both of them took potshots at themselves in the process.
