The following awards are to be given to good games that have some thing (or things) fucked up with them. All the games that will be receiving the awards are good games that you should play. However I have noticed many trends in gaming that are making games that should be good, not so good.

And without further a due, here they are.

The Uwe Boll award for unintentional camp is awarded to the game that takes itself so seriously, that it comes off as silly, and even stupid. This year's recipient is Gears of War 2. Runner up: Call of Duty 5.

The Eldridge Cleaver award for excessive brownness is awarded to the game where the highest percentage of the game's textures are brown or another similarly dreary color. This year's recipient is Gears of War 2. Runner up: Fallout 3.

The Jackson Pollock award for excessive color is given to the game whose color saturation levels not only exceed what is necessary, but also are so bright they make it hard to tell one thing from the next, essentially blinding the play. This year's recipient is Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3. Runner up is: Spore.

The Eric Idle award for spam is given to the game whose gameplay involves spamming shit. Whether it be grenades, tanks, miniguns, the game that has conditions where clicking aimlessly produces the best results gets this award. This year's recipient is Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath. Runner up: Call of Duty 5.

The The Stig award for overuse of driving is awarded to open-world games that minimize fast travel and as a result, require players to spend more time driving than is acceptable. This year's recipient is: Far Cry 2. Runner up: Grand Theft Auto IV

The The Proclaimers award for excessive walking is awarded to the game that forgoes drivable vehicles, or makes them to hard to come by, despite the large size of the game's maps. This year's recipient is: Fallout 3. Runner up is Armed Assault. Aside from FO3 there were few walking sims in 2008. As was pointed out, ArmA was from 2007 and so is having its award revoked.

The Timothy McVeigh award for explosive barrels is awarded to the game that puts exploding barrels to the most use. This year's recipient is: Far Cry 2. Runner up: Call of Duty 5.

The Lisa McPherson award for deadly-bugginess is given to the game with some many bugs/exploits it makes you want to murder yourself. This year's recipient is: Fallout 3. Runner up: Gears of War 2.

The Madeline McCann award for sucky server browsers is given to the game whose server browser is so shitty, that it makes it very difficult to find a multiplayer game that you will actually have fun in. This year's recipient is Left 4 Dead. Runner up: Far Cry2.

Nonono you got it mixed up. Fallout 3 has one colour of texture: Brown. I swear i've not seen any colour in this game at all. At least gears has a forest level.

Agree with the others.

*cough* Oasis *cough*

But really, what did you expect from a game based on a...erm...nuclear irradiated bombed out wasteland?

Not seen an Oasis yet. Just played it for 15 hours or so. So far i've seen Brown Village, Brown Wasteland and Brown City.

I didn't even think it was possible for a game to be that brown .

Then go to Oasis. It's quite a world apart from the rest of the wasteland, and for good reason. The world's supposed to be the color of...you know, dirt and demolition.

And hey, Tranquility Lane isn't brown! It's black and white!

It's too bad KZ2's not out yet, or it'd win "Most Grey".

FO3 would have gotten the Eldridge Cleaver award but the Washington ruins are grey. Not brown. Grey.

You've played (and I assume, purchased) all of these? Good god. My video game purchases occur on a nearly biennial timespan.

L4D I only played the demo of. FO3 I pirated, and GOW2 I played on a friend's XBox.

Uwe Boll: Maker of shitty movies
Eldridge Cleaver: Black Separatist
Jackson Pollock: "Artist" famous for paintings which consisted of random colors thrown about a canvas conveying no meaning or significance.
Eric Idle: Monty Python member (prevalent in the Spam Sketch)
The Stig: Mysterious race car driver from the BBC Show Top Gear
The Proclaimers: Band famous for song I Would Walk 500 miles
Lisa McPherson: Scientologist, the CoS put her in a deprivation chamber where she was killed by cockroaches.
Madeline McCann: British girl who was abducted a few years ago. Despite of a disgusting amount of media attention her whereabouts are still unkown.

Have to agree with Left 4 Dead's award. I reckon the game is awesome but man the server system needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

Only thing I found a bit odd was Armed Assualt being runner up when it didn't come out in 2008...

Other then that, pretty much spot on.

Speaking of bugginess in FO3, is there going to be a patch released for it?

I love the game and I pirated it first to try it out and enjoyed it so I'm eventually going to buy it soon (has since been deleted from my computer), but if they're going to leave it as buggy and fucked-up as it is, I'm not so sure they deserve my money.

Also I agree with most of these, the rest I'm neutral toward since I haven't played mentioned games.

Aside from the loading bug, and a couple graphic glitches I haven't had too many issues with it, unlike Far Cry 2 which was a bug fest, and was actually more fun with the glitches, believe it or not

FC2 had hardly any bugs.

it also had hardly any gameplay.  drive, shoot, drive, get shot at, drive, shoot, get shot at, etc.

Sums up FPSs quite nicely.

FC2 was so disappointing.

Not to mention it crashed on me over 9000 times and I just gave up.

But they have plots.

FC2 had no character development, and barely any storyline.

FC2 gave you a disease at the beginning, which served to bug the shit out of you and hurt gameplay.

FC2 had weapon degradation, which only served to hurt gameplay.

FC2 had diamond cases, which were just ways to waste time and energy to get the equivalent of $0.50

Every mission in FC2 was the same thing in a different place.

FC2 was open world, but linear, and there was no point to the open world. It only served to hurt gameplay
