Considering I have the PC version, I can actually get out of places when I get stuck. TCL ftw. Not to mention the mods and graphics. And I've never really worried about having to send my computer back for repairs. Strangely enough, I prefer rare, minor, easily solvable problems with a game to common, major problems with my system which involve shipping it out for a new one.
I don't think haffey said any of those quotes tbh

Fuck I hate you guys. Stay on topic and quit being fags.
I made the Rail Spike gun, and I love pwning people's heads with it. I love how they stay on the object nearest behind them
I wish it did more damage to not the head though.

i want to make some custom guns too. i need to play this game again tomorrow. unfortunately i have sold most of the rather obscure parts (such as lunchboxes for bottlecap mines) so i might have to find more. i'm looking forward to the dart gun - got lots of ammo for that!DoctaStrangelove wrote:

Those mysterious stranger visits always make me laugh. He is so funny turning up in a trench coat wielding a magnum.
What do your characters look like?
Here's me:
I'm wearing vault 101 security guard armour, it was taken from the corpse of Amata's fathers security chief. lol Gives plus in small guns +5 and laser weapons +5 and I haven't found anything better or that even does similar so I have kept it.
And the hat looks cool especially when the mysterious stranger turns up.
Don't ask what I'm doing with the Antagonizer. She was stupid enough to need to be tea-bagged imo.

Delusion ftw!Really, you attack me for the same stuff you do.

Xbox360Achievements is holding a contest for one of the Prima F3 guides...if you've got a gamertag (even if you have F3 on the PS3 or PC), I'd enter now.

Oblivion had the UESP, Fallout has the Fallout wikia, why would you buy a guide when there are wikis with more information that's easier to get to?
Stay on topic.

I enjoy lurking on this thread since I'm interested in playing the game and I'd like to see what people think of it. But when it starts to get clouded by the same console vs. PC bullshit that gets started by the same exact people in every other fucking thread, it's really fucking annoying. Shut up and grow up, please.
On-topic: Let's just say I'm gonna give this game a whirl over the next week or so, and if I don't experience enough deterring bugs/crashes and I have enough fun, then I'll give Bethesda my money

Didn't you say you were gonna get the PS3 version? I'd probably go with the PC version if I were you...it might have problems on it's own, but atleast you'll be able to get the DLC (which looks pretty substantial) and the GECK.
Thank you.Poseidon wrote:

Yeah I'd definitely try the pc version, as problems seem to be relatively rare. If it doesn't work out you can always return it.
For a brief moment there I was considering the PS3 version since I eventually will get a PS3 and I'll need games to build up a sizable collection, but then I heard about how the PS3 platform was the worst for this game due to some graphical problems that aren't as prevalent on the others. Fortunately with the PC version I'll also be able to "demo" it to make sure it works fine on my system and doesn't crash consistently. (And if it does, then I just delete it and there hasn't been a penny wasted)
That's the worst thing you can do. Don't get a game just for the sake of getting it on a system. Get it on the system which you'll enjoy it most on and get the most out of it on.mtb0minime wrote:

For example, I could have gotten it on PC or 360, but went for 360 due to the problems I had with FC2, and I didn't want to have any possible installation problems, since my computer's begun to act up as of late. There was no guarantee, but I didn't wanna risk it. That was just a personal choice though. If your computer is fine, I say without a doubt.. get the PC version.
Tell me how you like this one guys. I just made my first HD video and I used Fallout 3 for it!

I love how it looks very crisp and pretty, but I have one inquiry. When recording, does your game drop below 30 (or 24) fps? I detect some ugly frame-blending in there (editing programs will "blend" frames to bring it up to the desired FPS), it looks almost like motion blur, except not quite right.
I dunno, maybe it's just me
Other than that, cool video! I imagine you've got loads of HDD space so you record at the highest resolution and just don't compress it at all? Good luck having fun with that though since YouTube only allows 1 GB files. Guess you'll have lots of experimenting with formats and different kinds of compression to get the full HD look with minimal sacrifice of quality.

Some good news was is that the 30sec 720p video was only 30MBs.
Looks good, Naturn. Now go slaughter Megaton and take a video of it.
shouldn't that thing be barbecuing you at that range?

This game is huge, annoying as hell when you want to find something and then find a million other things before you even get there, Ok first question in the vault just before you leave you can try and save the bullys mum, did anyone do it? I never got there in time. Im wondering what the reward was?! maybe the key for that door just before the vault entrace?!
Also has anyone tried nuking megaton? that was funny as! But slightly evil

i know what you mean with the first thing though, look at me: i never even reached fucking megaton in the beginnning of the game. i have no idea what i was doing so i went towards the nearest structure. "boy this is a walk" i was thinking, until i realized i went to grayditch and started the Those! quest before even getting to Megaton. i was walking around outside it, but it was fucking closed or something cause i was like "what is this stupid hunk of metal doing lying around out here." i expected a city, not a goddamn junk yard.
