That's what you get when you pay for something you have to put together yourself with an alan wrench. Ikea stuff isn't that bad though. I have a dresser for my clothes from them and I've had it for almost 5 years now.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
IKEA furniture is shit. Anyone saying otherwise is rationalizing their decision with that thinking and with whatever they did with the money they saved. If you want to spend less to get less there isn't anything wrong with that, but don't tell yourself you're getting a good deal on furniture when you're sacrificing quality.
I have an IKEA bed, nightstand and dresser. The dresser has all but fallen apart in less than a year, the bed is doing okay but not great, and the nightstand is fine.
The beds don't look all that comfortable though

Fake IKEA? Shit you have to put together with an alan wrench? Maybe I'm confused, but we have one of these:
bigass blue and yellow building with a huge showroom, warehouse for all the different kits, and food court...I thought that was IKEA and that the whole point was buy a kit from them and make it yourself. I apologize if I got something wrong, but that's the IKEA we know around here.

Yeah same thing I was referring to. Most of the stuff you get from there, you have to put together yourself and the only tool they give you is an alan wrench.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

I've got a proper mattress already. My girlfriend and I paid extra for good mattresses from another store when we bought our cheapo frame from an Austrian store (a real cheapo one). I just need a better frame ...Jenspm wrote:
I have an IKEA bed, and I can tell you, it's the worst fucking mattress ever. Seriously, I'm never going to buy a bed from IKEA ever again. It should be out of here next month, in place of a custom bed and a mattress from Jensen (the Ambassador fyi.).
I've tried some at the IKEA store, and they weren't too good either. Mattress companies ftw.
Well when you get one, let me know. Hopefully you will get it before me.kylef wrote:
Yep ... I own some IKEA furniture and it is pretty stable heh *feels Mikhael desk* Malm bed looks nice in real life, I was quite pleased with it for its price. Yet to get one, though
There are different quality levels to IKEA stuff. But you're right - real furniture is always better. Which is why when I set up my HOUSE and have a JOB, I will buy good shit. But at the moment I am a poor college student. So cut me and the other poor kids some slack, will ya?Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Oh, Flamy don't be so angry You've just chosen the wrong Fürni! I'm sitting in an IKEA office chair right nao at home. This one cost something over 100€ and It was worth every penny. I posted it in a chairthread somewhere. Can't remember. The chair's very high so it supports the head and it has a switch that allows you to use it sorta like a rocking chair and you can lock it in any position. Usually I have it on loose so I can kick back and enjoy my internets und games.Flaming_Maniac wrote:

Nismo, be sure to test carefully if you decideto buy new mattresses from Crapea. I bought the medium ones since they seemed soft in the store but they were anything but. Didn't get softer in about 3 years of use either. They were the Sultan ones. The frame itself might squeak like hell so get used to it when you're having BF2S censored time with the missus And that model with the straight upwards end is recommended. I had one of those models that has a slight angle and I managed to push my pillow up the damn board every night that caused my head to be in odd positions. The next day was ofcourse headache/neckpain day.
good one bennet
this is better
Well I know the frame will squeak during sexy time. But our bed right now squeaks just when I move around or climb into bed each and every night. It annoys the hell out of me. But I don't need mattresses, the ones I have are pretty sweet. We bought a cheapo bed, but really good mattresses. Fucked up, right?Ultrafunkula wrote:
