Well as you see in the title, my ping has crazy high numbers lately while playing CS:S. It used to be around 20 or even less well you get it, low and playable, now all i get is 400+ or sometimes even around 800.. As you understand this is unplayable, anyone know how this might be? My internet further seems to be fine and i really don't know what is wrong. Thank you..

Type cl_cmdrate 1 in console.
What does that do? And i already checked on multiple servers, it's always the same bad ping.. and i always turn off most things before i go start up the game so it really couldn't be that..Metal-Eater-GR wrote:

However, if you have big ping problems, you could set it to 80, but that won't really help.

I think your right Cause it's been going on for say a day or 2, and i just played 5mins ago and i got 30ping again or below it, so it seems to be some random ISP stuff.. thanks for the help though

If the com_maxfps and cl_maxpackets conflict, it causes hoooge ping. Thus having a low FPS might cause high ping.War Man wrote:
