i have been eating pretty much only fast food for a LONG time, and i am getting tired of it. i am nowhere near overweight, so that's not the problem. i just know that my family has a history of heart disease, and i think it's about time to start eating more healthy foods. i know eating healthy is a lot more work than just going to wendy's, but it needs to be done. what are some good meals that won't give me a heart attack?
Ask m3thod, hes a healthy guy on this forum who knows alot about that type of stuff.
You want to know what food is healthy? Just cook for yourself. And by that I don't mean the American idea of sticking something in the microwave () but actually cook things.
Steak and potatoes, Spaghetti with Parmesan cheese, stir fry (ground beef and whatever other veggies you like).
which is what i plan to do. i have no idea where to start though. what is healthy? what isn't healthy? i don't want to eat a salad and an apple every day lol

Someone call? Nah, to be honest i am no cook and stick to very simple stuff. I am lazy and be arsed knocking up meals.
Breakfast is usually porridge (mixed with whey protein), and some fruit or boiled/poached eggs and (wholemeal bread) toast. Avoid bread that states its brown...it’s just contain colouring to make it brown...it’s not wholemeal. And never miss breakfast....running late? Make a milkshake (skimmed milk only) and throw in a handful of oats.
Every other meal I stick to lean protein and usually grill it and add lots of multicoloured veg usually steamed or grilled. Turkey, beef, chicken, salmon, tuna, and salmon you name it. No pork cos i iz mooslim. Eating healthy consistently is a hard thing to do but your body with thank you for providing it with good nutrition
Stick to carbs that has a low GI, so it takes time for your body to digest. Stuff like wholemeal pasta and brown rice. It will keep you full for longer and prevent snacking on crap and the dietary fibre is essential. Try to get lots of veg inside you too the different the colours the better. You can stick your veg inside a juicer but i've read you have a 5 mins to drink it before the nutrients go kaaaput, they oxidise or something.
Fat: Olive oil or get it from nuts. I personally avoid butter like the plague.
Snacks: Stick to fruit/veg/nuts/raisins/prunes. I also eat beef jerky-can have a lot of salt in it though.
You also gotta stop eating crap because it'll get you by until you find healthy food...never works. But don't totally discard junk food, you'll just go nuts and gorge on it, you need to subscribe to the notion it’s now a treat and have a cheat meal/day once or twice a week.
And exercising would be a very good idea too, good for that ticker you’re trying to protect.

I'm actually surprised we have a Muslim population at all here in Ireland... eating pork is almost compulsory in this country!m3thod wrote:

I live in Italy, and here is healthy food every day.
A proper meal of Pasta & Salad, bread etc.
Then a match of soccer and then the pasta or pizza.
Thats nice life.

Only 2 weeks left on it anyway, then I'll see if my body gets used to it.
