The Media runs the country.
God forbid the canidates would be grilled about border security, balanced budget, and energy policies until something was actually done about it.
Ted Turner needs to give equal time on TV to people who actually are willing to give answers to these questions, like Ron Paul. Why they spend so much time interviewing people who won't answer questions is beyond me.
This is why Americans won't vote for people outside the two parties.

He-ey we agree on something . I've been prattling on about this through several threads at the danger of sounding like a conspiracy nut. They busy the majority of the voting populace with dross so that the important issues get overlooked and forgotten about. Who cares what happens about the deficit when Palin's daughter is pregnant?!?!Lotta_Drool wrote:

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
and its complacency that has allowed it to get this way.
The general population is made up of fucking foreigners with no allegiance to the US, many of whom can't even speak the fucking language.War Man wrote:

High School Graduate minimum. Privatise the education system so people are actually taught the constitution and how the banks own our government.
Free thinkers are dangerous to a Government.
Actually James Madison, the framer of the Constitution, said that the country should be ran on the principle of "Those who own the country ought to govern it". And who owns your country? The corporations and conglomerates. So it makes perfect sense that the media corporations spend all day broadcasting utter trash about the candidates whilst not allowing the public to engage with or discuss any of the key topics that actually matter.War Man wrote:

V for Vendetta is a good film.
Truth be told the Military has a high percentage of people in it that joined because they couldn't hold a job at McDonalds and they needed someone to house them, feed them, wake them up in the morning and put them to bed at night.ATG wrote:

Gs while I understand your rage at what Spit was saying, you seem unaware of the The Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act.
Perhaps you out to look into that because as a citizen of the Gawd blessed U>S>A I felt rage at what you said about using AVs on civilians.
A lot of them could hardly speak english and were a stupid as rocks. The reserves were much better though, a lot of college kids that actually were inteligent.
Okay FEOS, glad we could get most of that cleared up. Now onto the issue at hand.
The issue is that it's hypocritical for McCain to bash Obama for not having experience and then pick someone with about the same amount of experience, for VP, who is one step away from the position Obama is going for himself. Nothing more, nothing less. I do not see how I'm being hypocritical here. Can you explain?
No one is saying Palin is not a good pick. I actually think she's pretty good, for a Republican, anyways. She'd be a better president than Bush, that's for sure. I do think Palin is probably qualified to be president, and she would probably do a pretty good (or okay, as far as politicians go) job.FEOS wrote:
Not really, since you say you don't see how Obama's followers are being hypocritical now for arguing against something they said was unimportant before.Spearhead wrote:
Nope, not at all. No one has ever said experience isn't important. That's why picking Biden might look inconsistent to people who don't understand the situation. TBH its all Hillarys fault. Now the Repubs are capitalizing on the damage she's done to Obama. No one ever said experience doesn't matter, it was Hillary Clinton and her people who claimed that experience alone is why Dems should pick her over Obama.
I think the paragraph above is the most important so... I hope that clears things up.

I'm not saying you're being hypocritical. I'm saying the Obama campaign is being hypocritical by going after Palin's experience level. I'm differentiating between the experience levels of the ones running for the #1 job and the ones running for the #2 job. I'd rather have the #1 guy be the experienced one, leveraging the fresh "outsider" perspective of the #2 guy (or gal) in an advisory role...than to have it the other way around. At the end of four years (or eight) in the #2 job, there would be no one more qualified for the #1 job than the VP...assuming the Prez didn't cock things up.Spearhead wrote:

Well okay then. We agree that both McCain and Obama ('s campaigns) are hypocrites. But Obama didnt base almost his entire campaign on the idea that he's got more experience. When Democrats attack Palins experience, they do it because its showing McCain to be inconsistent. I've heard a million McCain radio ads saying "Obama is popular and new.... but is he ready to lead?.FEOS wrote:

Jennifer Aniston is back on TV apparently.
Oh that's good but I preferred Joey in friends. Though she was the hottest.
They should really do another series.
