oh ok.  lol.  i forgot, you like anarchists.

what a swell guy

Much of the controversy about Ayers during the decade since the year 2000 stems from an interview he gave to the New York Times on the occasion of the memoir's publication.[15] The reporter quoted him as saying "I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again" as saying "I don't want to discount the possibility."

Hilarious; you'd rather have a silent government than one that talks about morals and abstinence.
morality is relative and abstinence is contradictory to 3 or 4 billion years of evolution.

its fair to scrutinize Obama's relationship with a terrorist just as its fair to criticize McCains ties to one of Nixons plumbers.

The fact remains that Obama was 8 years old when the weathermen were around and I feel he has done enough to condemn and distance himself away from ayers.

yes but he started politics with ayers.  doesnt matter how old he was when it started.  and he has distanced himself.  but, seems people are more concerned with the vp's daughter than with something like this, showing complete judgement failure.

I think it shows poor judgement on McCain for choosing a running mate with such political baggage in such a short career.

What political baggage does she have? The only thing I've seen reported that is remotely questionable was the whole firing of her ex-brother-in-law. An investigation where she basically said "bring it on".

A pregnant daughter who's taking responsibility for her actions? How is that "baggage"?

something else that should raise real issues.  let it be known I could give a fuck about this womans family.  same way I would care less about jon edwards cheating on his cancer stricken wife or obama going to a church that scares people.

but, there are issues about this woman.

She supported the bridge to nowhere despite what she says now.

She believes that creationism should be taught in school.

Shes against abortion.

She was the head of a 527 group

Her husband works for British Patroleum

Her close relationship with the man who could arguably be the most corrupt politician in the country, Ted Stevens.

Oh yeah, and the firing of her ex brother in law.

Supported it so much that one of the first things she did was kill it when she took office?

In the oil fields. About as blue collar as you can get. That's like having an issue with someone's spouse working for GM on the assembly line.

This is the only one that raises an eyebrow. But supposedly there will be an investigation, which she has welcomed. Why don't we stop taking allegations as gospel and wait for the facts to come out?

ok.

First, we are talking about a national election and winning a national election.  Being tied to a lobbying group is not a "maverick" image.  If you people cant see that as political bagage then I should work for a campaign because I can see how it would keep people from voting for you.  Ill work for anyone too, Im not tied to ideology.

I think making a commercial with the man is pretty close.  I dont know, Im looking at this through the publics stand point.  Seeing images of Stevens and Palin standing next to eachother while she accepts his endorsement may not be the best thing for her.  Yeah, ofcourse its politics, but most Americans arent politicians.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-tr … mbatt.html

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co … id=topnews

creationism in schools

"Palin's political résumé meets all the essential tests for social conservatives: She opposes same-sex marriage and providing benefits to domestic partners; she backs banning embryonic stem cell research and has raised the idea of teaching creationism alongside evolution in public schools. "

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co … id=topnews

to be fair, she refined her position by stating that it shouldnt have to be mandatory.

"Supported it so much that one of the first things she did was kill it when she took office?"

oh, so she's just another flip flopper
