Agree with OP.

With the introduction of Infantry Only, I see no need for further "local" server rules.

They want to get the best out of their game, its their server, they make the rules, simple. Life's unfair and then you die

Yes, but it is like an epidemic...
Best was that french server... if I read "lalala commandeur lalala", I am prone to think they mean "no fighting commander" - so after one minute someone shouts in chat "LALALA NO COMMANDEUR LALALA" and I get an instant kick plus ban..? Maybe you do not have the right to play on their servers if you are not french... and I am not even sure if I was "fighting" - i.e. running to a hideout instead of commanding while standing on the street... - or if they did not allow commanders at all...
But it seems to be a french thing - yesterday I got kicked for being idle... I came on the server in the middle of the round, saw we had no commander but enemy arty raining down on us, so I apply for command, accept it, quickly set up an UAV and run try to find a safe spot placing some APMs - not one minute later I am back in the main menu... maybe they need someone to spam their chat/comm with spotted enemies... wonder what would have happend after 30 sec. of silence if I had spammed them and hit the "Shut up and ditch this channel"-threshold...

That's what the favorite server list is for, when you find server with rules you like, add it. Soon your have a good selection of servers with rules you like and wont ever have to look for another Internet server.

But, i do agree, servers with rules like that runin the game to such a horrible extent. IMO, if you cant disable it server side (within the server TOS or what ever its called) then their is no room for debate, i can and in most cases will do it. This excludes glitching, hacking, and team killing of course.

Bottom line, if the server rules don't agree with your stile of play, leave (or get kicked/banned if you want), go to another server, keep trying, good servers are out their, just got to find them.

Update:
I actually enjoy servers where they prohibit the use of PK Rockets.

Well if you rely on PK rockets to get kills then we both know who the nub is.

Afraid to have fun?

Unfair kills - no fun.
Voss - unfair advantage in CQB over everything but Krylov and Clark. Noobgun. Same, as G36E - no recoil at all. Easy to shoot, easy to score kills.  SAAW - unfair lock-on tone which disappears when a) missiles got launched b) you are out of SAAW's range - really stupid issue.\

lets end this now. You asked - I answered. I'm not going to discuss my opinion on these two.

i.e. I get killed by it so no one should use it.

I haven't played in a while but I remember that Carbine gun being 10x more useful in CQC.

As for the AA gun, how else can an inf guy kill an aircraft?

Check my stats, I'm not the one who is being killed by Voss that much. I just don't like noobguns.

Agreed, but beyond 10-15 methers carbine is close to useless.

Stock missile launchers are quite effective, if you know how to aim.
Btw, SAAW isn't designed for self-defence anyways. From my experience, it needs about 100-150m distance to hit the target, if you shoot it from less distance, you have a great chance of both missiles to miss. Most of ppl whom I saw with SAAW, are simply whoring it from safe positions. 8 of 10 of them end up being killed by gunship (if gunship's crew is skilled enough). Yet I hate being shot down by a camping idiot when I have less then 50% hp..

Well if you find it impossible to avoid situations in which the PK becomes a problem then we both know who should alt+F4 life.exe.

Well, speaking of effectiveness, guided missiles are better. And take more skill then stupid SAAW thingy. And I just don't like Pilum - I use it only against walkers.
