28 seconds flat on a [email protected]. Sorry, I dunno how to disable Speedstep, I'm assuming that's the thing that clocks down the processor when not in use.
I'll try to get a screeny of CPU on load later.

Yes that is what it does. You have to disable it in the BIOS.Smithereener wrote:

Eh, that's what I thought, dunno how to get to the BIOS on my notebook though. I think it's one of the F keys, but I can't really be arsed to try, unless more proof is needed or something.Defiance wrote:

i might overclock this this weekend
Neither of the links on the front page seem to work, was gonna download both programs and try out my E8500 but I can't download either of the programs ohwell.
Oh crap, I gotta update this when I get home.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
Which part of BIOS do I find this in? And is it actually called 'Speedstep' in there? I had a quick look and didn't find it.Defiance wrote:

Look for something that says Speedstep, C1E, or EIST. Disable any of those you find.Mattimus wrote:

I still don't see my name at #2 place.
yeahz top 10
46.047s (1m) on an ancient P4 3.0ghz Prescott with 2gb/pc3200 although it looks to be correct according to similar syst's.
Updated. Sorry for taking a while, I've been a bit busy lately, and having lost the macros I use for numbering, I've been discouraged to do it. All additions from the last month are now in the chart
Read the rules.OxenBreeder wrote:

This is the computer at the internet cafe I normally play from, now that I can't use my home computer for a while. I don't know if it's good or bad and I have no clue what speedstep is, nor could I disable it because i'm at a cafe.
I noticed that I the results that I posted were messed up, so I hope that those results are not.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
