It's more than 7-feet tall. Weighs over 500 pounds and walked upright -- three "Bigfoot" seekers, including a Redwood City man, Wednesday claimed they have proof that they have found the body of the elusive creature in the wilds of Georgia.

And on Friday, at a news conference in Palo Alto, they say they will present DNA evidence to prove the carcass of "Rickmat" is that of a bigfoot.------------------> so wait till Friday to see if its Bigfoot or not

Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, Georgia residents who lead Bigfoot-tracking expeditions, say they found the body of what appears to be a Bigfoot in the woods of northern Georgia and will join local Bigfoot researcher Tom Biscardi at the news conference, according to Robert Barrows, who is publicizing the event.

Among the other physical characteristics of the body they have released included the creature has flat feet similar to human feet.
It's footprint is 16 ¾ inches long and the length from palm to tip of the middle finger is 11 ½ inches long.

Barrows' name is known in San Mateo County, where he has made multiple bids as a Democratic primary candidate for the District 12 Congressional seat formerly occupied by the late U.S. Rep. Tom Lantos and now by Jackie Speier.

"I think you'll find that this is the real deal," Barrows said of the alleged discovery.

Whitton, a police officer in Clayton County, and Dyer, a former correctional officer, are not saying exactly where the body was found or where it is now, Barrows said.

Biscardi, a veteran Bigfoot tracker who said he went to Georgia to view the find over the weekend, said DNA tests are being conducted and a team of scientists will study the body, but declined to name any scientists involved.

Officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division said the largest wildlife they are aware of in the state are black bears and white-tail deer. The show is heard in over thirty countries.

Debate till Friday till they announce the results or determine its DNA sample which they taken from the creature

I'm going to call fake .

Oh and when I first read this in EE I thought it meant 'Georgia' as in the Russian-Georgia. I laughed and thought it was some obscure war-based joke. I'm pretty sure this actual thread and the pictures are funnier.

By the way- did they "find the body" or did the three Bigfoot trackers hunt and kill it? If so, way to go killing probably one of the rarest exceptions to wildlife and evolution to be found in the natural world- and for what? 5 minutes in the press and a trophy... pfft.

After looking at the 'official' website for the organisation I do still think it's fake...

3 rednecks found the most elusive creature ever, and the only characteristics and features of the specimen they can divulge are things that a 12 year old could have written? "It has 5 fingers and 5 toes"- it surely must be Bigfoot!. Also notice how the entire website basically just sets up hype for their 'radio show' and 'DNA conference'- and also how this story has uncannily not been mentioned in any world press or mainstream media.

Oh and the organisation are based in Menlo Park, that's a financial business park in San Fran right? That's the same place Xfire is based in. I'm sure they are legitimate .

No, Menlo Park is not a business park in SF.  It's a city about 25 miles south of SF proper, a couple miles north of Stanford University.

Ah well thanks for the correction, the Xfire owner told me over the IM that they were based in Menlo Park, which he described as a sort of financial office district just outside SF- that's as far as I understood it. Besides, the address of this agency is:

Searching for Bigfoot Inc.
1134 Crane St., Suite 216
Menlo Park

.Inc? Sounds like it's profit-driven from the start; what are the chances of 3 people looking to get rich off the bigfoot name finding a beast which has been searched for and rumoured for almost a century (if not more?) I'm sure people have searched all over for this thing for the past 50 years, it's just quite surprising that someone who took the trouble to register an Inc. and rent some office space beforehand happened to stumble across a 'body' and what they describe as a small village of the bloody things:

To be fair if it's genuine then it's one of the most efficient forms of capitalising on something I've ever seen- these guys even have a PR;
