I have never needed to use it but I might soon as a couple people on my leaderboard have stoped playing for whatever reasons.

Personally I never use it. I always go on the main page where it says "edit leaderboard" and add manually

I usually add people to me leader board manually but I will occasionally use it.
you need to look at the people who use the leaderboard. only they know this function and if you look how many of those leaderboard user uses this function, I think it's not many (...much?)
