I would rather attack someone - in both cases if I am in their back - with a gun than a knife.
A gun can only hit you in one direction and if you get a hold on it you can rather (!) easily avoid it. A knife is trouble in all directions, you cannot grab it like the barrel of a gun, just holding the wrist lets the attacker twist and cut your hand/arm etc. So if I have no weapon myself - in this case at least a bat/stick/similar - I am not sure I would rush in to help someone (I do not know..).

It DOES save life, cant prevent us from saving the life of someone else i admit...but the less gun the best it is.

The way i see it for the canada right now is that the less gun we have the less chance someone will go on a shooting spree because his gf dumped him or watever, He still can but rifle are harder to hide and all....You prolly understand me.

Its quite scary actually. This happened about two hours from me and I have taken that bus route multiple times.

But as usmarine and others pointed out, the first thing that came to mind when I heard it was why didn't someone do something to try and save this guy? Knife or not, 30 people should have been able to do something.
