how much do you earn with the software engineering degree?
I'm doing chemical engineering, but i'd like to get some software training as well (assuming i ever have time or money during the next five years, which is unlikely)
When I was last working - some time ago - I was on 25K (in british money) - that was in a relatively junior position - and I've seen starting salaries of 30K with a good degree (but those are rare (the 30K, not the good degree)).
ChemE's start upwards of 50K ($), i considered software, but i've heard the field is overcrowded atm
thats not bad then. (although, shits more expensive across the pond, come spend it here)Scorpion0x17 wrote:

Tell me about it. Wish I was earning that kinda money now, instead of living below the poverty line.S.Lythberg wrote:

Hmmm... Can you imagine how different this would've turned out if they punished Muslim kids for not participating in a Christian or Jewish demonstration?

The teacher is an idiot. I don't think you can really put the blame on "England" in this one.
You can however point out obvious douche bags from the article:

I am not racist, I've been friendly with an Indian for 30 years. I've also been to a Muslim wedding where it was explained to me that alcohol would not be served and I respected that.
"But if Muslims were asked to go to church on Sunday and take Holy Communion there would be war."
Appeasement in action.
Does this mean England is about to become an Islamic Republic?
Yawn.
Would they print a story about someone refusing to wear a kippah and simulate Jewish practices? I think not.

Better question: Would they try to force Muslim students to simulate worshiping Christ? How about Yaweh?CameronPoe wrote:

That is the problem the OP is getting at.
Yes, the teacher is an idiot. So is the school for approving the lesson plan.

Muslims saying christian prayers......hmmmm...when i was at school i had to do this knowing full well if i didn't participate i would get it in the neck.
And we had to sing dumb christian songs in assembly. This is ongoing since i was at school in the early 80's.

At my infant school once a week our english lesson involved reading and writing out bible stories.m3thod wrote:

Dear God please let my karma one day reach 100, whether it be tomorrow or 1000 years in the future i want it to happen.
The Daily Mail is a rag.
The Teacher is an idiot.
I'd seriously doubt this is British board of education policy.
Religion shouldn't be taught in schools in any case.
Britain is not about to fall into the hands of the Mooslim heathens.

Yeah what you personally did at school is indicative for every child isn't it? I seem to have had hitler-esque teachers who even would pull people up for not clapping. So fucking what.Vilham wrote:

We wont even allowed to use our forks as "shovels" when eating peas during school dinner...they would actually walk around and watch us stab and then eat em.
edit
and you had to show your plate to them when you had finished and if everything wasn't eaten you had to go back and finish it off. Yes i am still bitter 25 years later. My playtime was severely reduced.

It's not lying, it's just another tiresome isolated incident designed to whoop people into an anti-islam frenzy, when in reality it was the stupidity of a non-Muslim that is the root of the story.Kmarion wrote:

I've found a number of other sources. It looks like you are right. They appear to be selective in reporting the facts. Great.CameronPoe wrote:
